Thank you for the email letting me know that I duplicated a memorial.

That sometimes happens and I and others don't realize that is was the same person.

Thanks for all your contibutions to this website and any others that you many have contributed.

RE: Katherine Remeeus
Well I guess we're in the same boat. I am going by the marriage certificate of one of her daughters,(Estella or Stella as in one of the Census reports)my grandmother. You'd think both these official documents would be accurate! And spelled with a C on the doc. some have her with a K. Spencer Redford is her husband. How many can there be in West Michigan? I hope I'm charting out the right great grandmother!

Memorial# 86188369
Hi Bonnie,

The name on this memorial is incorrect. It should be "Eleanor A. "Ella" Lapham Purdun". The photo of her gravestone shows "Elnor A." which is probably an abbreviation.

The current name in the title of this memorial is a combination of this person's name and her "sister's" whose memorial is # 11138132. She is also at Lakeside Cemetery.

(I put "sister" in quotes above because she lived as a sister with Elnora Amanda Lapham but Eleanor had different parents.)

This situation is very confusing which might be helped if the Find-a-Grave listing could be corrected.

Hi Bonnie, we could be relatives, but there is a discrepancy in spellings. My great grandmother's name was Catherine Raamus Redford (on Daughter's marriage certificate). Her husband's name also on the certificate was Spencer Redford. Grand Rapids, MI is marriage certificate. Have you ever come across alternative spellings for Remuus? Could they have gotten it wrong on the marriage log (Kent county, also next to Ionia Co.) It's just too coincidental. Can you shed any light on this for me?

RE: Susan Elvira
Hi Bonnie. Yes, she was born in the village (smaller, more like a crossroads) called Nickleplate. I also added her five siblings.

Did you get my message?
