I am documenting burials in the following cemeteries in Hancock County, Ill.: Fountain Green, Hadley, St. Simon (a.k.a. Lincoln or Lincoln Catholic), Majorville, Roberts, Webster, Willis, Wright, Yetter. Also Friendship and Hills Grove in McDonough County, Ill. Links to these cemeteries are located on my homepage.
I implore Find A Grave members to seek out tombstones which have not been documented. We all have family trees in which there are persons for whom we have no evidence of when or where they died and were buried.
Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines outlined in the "Help with Find A Grave", linked at left, particularly those under the Working With Photos heading:
--Can I add a photo that I found on a different website?
--Someone posted my copyrighted photos! How can I get them removed or get them properly credited?
--I found a photo of a relative on Find A Grave, can I use it?
Unless otherwise stated by the contributor, no tombstone photographs taken after 1989 are in public domain. If you are creating your own family tree on another website, please respect the copyright of the contributor.
Above all, remember that "We want Find A Grave to remain a place of respect and remembrance, just like a real cemetery."
Happy New Year! I got Loyd Keith Duffie's family straightened out - oh my God! I have his wife's obituary - you'd think that would help. I am onward with Catherine Welch Watson tonight - I don't understand why nobody has ever put her on Find A Grave, but I have a picture of her stone - it's a start! Have a great 2016.
Thank You! Thanks for your help with the Stanley's. I saw the eye doctor today and I'm good for six more months - whew. I've been doing the cemetery at Galesburg lately. I've gotten a few things about Glade City cemetery. I've got all the people whose monuments I need pictures of at Raritan marked off in a book, if I could ever drive down there. I'm hoping someone else who does pictures gets there first, then I only have to drive to Galesburg! Thanks again.
Londrie I visited your website this evening and I thank you for a wonderful page on my Londrie family. I would truly like to have a copy of the obituary for Mary and the pic of the sons. It is so satisfying to see pics of the old ones. I can see now that you are not related fromwhat is written on the website and you have done a wonderful job of compiling all this info. Thanks again.
LONDRIE I am thinking that you may be related to the LONDRIEs?? I should have mentioned that Lewis Henry's father John was the son of Eli or Levi or Joseph Elie as it is written on his baptismal cert. He was the son of Alexis Charles LANDRY and Marie Sara LeBlanc.Eli was the eldest of 9 and my 3rd g-uncle. My 3rd gramps was Jean Baptiste LANDRY later changed to LONDRY after he received an land grant in ON Canada. Jean Baptiste was the 8th and youngest son.
