Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a retired teacher. I am also a publisher author and freelance writer. I reside in Rainbow Lake, NY, located in the northern reaches of the Adirondacks. I have, it seems, always felt the need to wander and muse my way through cemeteries both large (Greenwood in Brooklyn) and small (like the ones around my home). If you need help in locating a marker for a photo, etc in Essex, Franklin or Clinton Co's of NYS feel free to get in touch. Chat with me.

April is breaking out here in the North Country with the usual temperature of 6 F. at night and flurries. I feel I have a right to complain...we just returned from a 5 1/2 month road trip that took us through spectacular (and warm) parts of this country. Only a few weeks ago, I was wearing a tee-shirt and wandering cemeteries in Arizona, Texas and places that look great on a map, but are all too often too distant for me to visit as much as I'd like. Note To Readers: If you ever find yourself in southern Utah and get a chance to motor...slowly...along the Vermillion Cliffs, you will never be quite the same again. The Southwest is truly unrivaled in it's stark and empty beauty. I managed to fulfill requests for Find-a-Grave photos in at least ten states.
Back home now and all ready to revisit my favorite country churchyards. Have a great Spring and Summer. Watch the earth reawaken from its winter nap.

The quiet country cemeteries sit by the roadside and wait for the Find-a-Grave photo volunteer (me) to wander through the old stone gates and begin another season of searching for burial sites for so many loved ones who live too distant to water the flowers and tidy the plot. I'm armed with my camera and notebook. Contact me. I would love to hear your stories and the stories of those who are absent from your life.

Wow, you weren't kidding about lots more. Thank you for filling my 5 Bryant and 2 Goff photo requests for this cemetery! We had the same weather, temp was 17 that night & had 4 inches of snow on the ground. Sure hope it's done now LOL.

RE: Sally Hayward Reynolds
Patrick,

I don't manage Abijah's memorial, but there is a photo of his marker. Thanks for the offer.

I was out yesterday and fulfilled three requests. Payback, I guess...

I don't post many memorials, but when I do requests, I usually photograph others in the plot and post & offer to transfer management.

Thanks again,

Barry

Sally Hayward Reynolds

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for the photo of Sally Reynolds' marker. She is my 4x great-grandmother.

Most of my family is from northern NY, mainly Clinton County; also southern Quebec, and New England. I live in southwestern Virginia, so I need the help of volunteers.

Thanks again,

Barry L. Seitz
