I was raised in Monticello, FL, where my parents and siblings currently reside. Following my retirement from the United States Navy (Submarines), I settled in Hansville, WA - which is rural community across the Puget Sound from Seattle. I enjoy seeing Seattle from a distance, but not actually going there. I suppose I'll always be a small town boy at heart.|
I have been researching my family roots, off-and-on, for the last 20 years. Find A Grave is a natural outlet for my interests in this area.
With regards to memorials I have posted, I do not want to be guilty of playing a numbers game. If you are a family member I will gladly transfer the memorial to you when I have completed posting information I have researched. I will also transfer memorials to anyone who has adopted a particular cemetery for research and upkeep. For instance, I recently surveyed the Lamont Walker Cemetery and cleaned most of the headstones before I photographed them. Maybe you are interested in doing the same.
Take time to seek out those small forgotten cemeteries. I know, in the southeastern US, most of the African American cemeteries are almost universally over looked. Since the maintenance of these cemeteries is not up to par with the white cemeteries (usually across the fence) many of the headstones will soon be unreadable.

Thank you for doing this work. I would love to talk/email/text with you. My grandmother was Ella V Shiver Fudge daughter of Faulton and Della Shiver of Sale City, GA. The family moved there from near Sylvestor during an outbreak of "Fever" in which my great great grandfather died. My great great grandfather Anthony took my grandmother and his family and moved to Sales City. I spent many fun summers there as the only child with a large group of great aunts and uncles at my Great Aunt Clyde and Uncle Archie Adams. My Uncle General Shiver (always thought it was Uncle Gentle because of it being spoken with the soft South Georgia drawl until beginning my own research). My Aunt Myrtice, now 95, alive and kicking high have done a lot of reserach. I have a copy of my Great Great Grandfather Anthony Shiver's Civil War records, complete with signature from pay records. I would love to be in touch. Are you on Facebook. I am listed under Linda Jackson Page

Thank-you for putting Uncle Billy info up and doing the upkeep on walkers cemetery. I just found this and as I live out of state and am disabled I can't believe that they have an angel looking over them GOD BLESS YOU for taking care of my family
|Carolyn Mason||Viola Rodgers|
Thanks for transferring Viola Rodgers to me, that is kind of you. She was my late husband's grand aunt and the other Rodgers in Emery Cemetery are also his kin. (It is my goal to sponsor as many family members sites as I can, it helps in the support of a worthy organization.) Viola's next older brother was my husband's grandfather. Most all the immediate family is in this cemetery, but not his grandfather.
Regards to you and thanks again.

I am new to FindAGrave and was searching for my parents. I notice you set up their memorials...Ernest Brown Neill and Mary Elizabeth Sever Neill. They are in Walker Cemetary outside of Lamont, FL. I am so thankful that you took on this act of kindness. I would like you to transfer their memorials to me once you are done. I am not sure what you need from me. I am a member now.
