Mathews Family
Thank you for posting the information and graves of the Mathews family in Kinsman Ohio. I think I might be your 5th cousin. I am descended from William S Mathews, Levi Mathews, Lyman Mathews, James, Leroy, Everett. If you have any questions on this line let me know, I would be glad to share what I have. If you have any more info on the William Mathews on down I would be interested. Thank you, your 5th cousin. Kathy

Mildred Giddings Mathews
Hi Doug,

I'm trying to find where my great-Aunt Mildred Mathews may be buried. I saw one of your pictures of Kinsman New Cemetery and thought perhaps you might know something of her family.

I seem to remember her husband's name as "Dan". She is the sister of my maternal grandmother, Dorothy C. Giddings Moore (Find A Grave# 66034047).

Her father is Stanley A. Giddings (Find A Grave# 78036603), her mother is Sara Foulk Giddings Treen (Find A Grave# 66033783). Her home was on Stanhope-Kelloggsville Road near Kinsman and she taught at Windsor School on Rt.322. I'm not at all sure of her dates, but about 1898 to late 1980's

Thanks in advance,
Jim Kunselman

Mathews in Kinsman in the first decade of the 1800's
I've learned that my fourth great-grandparents were the Betsey Mathews and Joseph Alexander found in Trumbull County at the following URL:

While they moved to Wayne County in the mid teens (after the 1812 war) I did find that their first son, Calvin C. Alexander (# 29904857), was born in Kinsman, specifically in 1808.

It seems likely that her father was William S. Matthews (# 33909015)

Since you've posted so much good stuff here, I wonder if you might have any insight about Betsey and her parentage.

Thank you so much for the great photo, if you have photos of more of the clan, please post them as you can. This one is posted as a cemstone, not a photograph (there is a different key to use), can you change the setting, do you have the cemstone?
Thanks, Dianna
