|I live in Katy TX and research mainly for my family. The names I research Darby, Hudson, Knox, Trammell, Smith, Owen/Owens, Green, Hartsfield, Hollan/Holland, Jordan/Jordon/Jourdan/Jorden, Warren, Wingfield in Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana as well as those that are tied in with them, Van Slyke and Price in Texas, Blakney/Blakeney/Cunningham in Texas and Illinois, Wilson and Tarpley in Illinois, Banks in Georgia, Alabama and beyond.|
I was raised by my Grandmother and Great Grandmother and listened to many stories of her home in Magnolia Arkansas and the large family there. She worked with our cousin Ben Warren for many years on genealogy in regards to Hudson and Warren.
I welcome any corrections and additional information.
At times I will add people to the site that I stumble across just so I can help someone else along the way.
Not all my listings are family so ask to see if a transfer is possible.

|Roxanne Smith Parks||RE: Andrew Hunter Banks , Alice Baker Banks|
Oh thank you so much! I have her Bible. It traveled with her from Arkansas to Texas in 1874, She and Andrew had three children, Thomas, Georgia and Lizzie. Thomas married and had one son, who later married but had no children that we can find (none in obituary either). Alice lived with Thomas and his wife until her death.
Her daughter Georgia married in her 20s to Thomas Parks who was considerably older. He was a blacksmith. It looks like she was his third marriage of four. They had one son - Boyd Woodson Parks. (He had other children from his first marriage). Boyd was grandfather to my husband. He was so wonderful. I have his hand written notes stating that he didn't know his siblings. Georgia died in 1907 and he remembers her as buried in Alba Texas where they lived. We found that she married in Paradise Texas where Alice and Andrew lived. What confuses me is I can't find a death certificate, grave, anything. It is like she magically disappeared from the face of the earth. The next census shows Thomas remarried and Granddaddy Boyd had a stepmother and stepbrother for a short time. I did find Thomas death information and grave.
I'm really curious about Georgia. Granddaddy obviously was Native American. He stated it often and was proud of it. His son B.W. was my husband's (also named Boyd) father. They both grew up listing all records as white due to the times and hardships. He stated they were Cherokee descent through Alice herself but I can't find any support documentation. I'm stumped!!!
Any insights to finding Georgia's ending or the Native American documentation would be so helpful. I can find other Georgia's who died in other states later but nothing on the information we have at hand.
Thanks so much for your response! You made my day.

I'm hopeful you might help me locate information on this couple. They are my husband's great great grandparents. We are trying to locate information on Alice's family.
We believe she was born in Arkansas and is of Native American descent.
We have her family Bible. Unfortunately she didn't include any information regarding parents, siblings, etc.
Thank you so much!

Thank you for posting Mr. Wise's memorial. Are you related to him in some way? I'm researching his family because I think there's a connection between him and the WISE branch of my family tree.
