Bio and Links
Most of my ancestors were early settlers of Kentucky who migrated from Virginia and Maryland.
Direct line surnames on my father's side include Holsclaw, Snawder, Harshfield, McDaniel, Buckman, Jones, Paulley, and Collins. My father's ancestors settled in Nelson, Bullitt, and Hardin Counties. Some family members later moved to Jefferson County.
Direct line surnames on my mother's side include Dennis, Taylor, Logsdon, Haycraft, Atterberry, Elliott, Wells, Richardson, Saltsman, and Craddock. My mother's ancestors settled in Grayson, Hart, Larue, and Hardin Counties. Some family members later moved to Jefferson County. A few wayward family members crossed the river and settled in Floyd and Harrison Counties in Indiana.

I also like to take time to pay respect and honor all veterans when I visit cemeteries in my area.

seeking permission
Hello. I am seeking permission to reprint your photo of the Elder grave marker at memorial #28090988, to illustrate an article about Sgt. J. Elder in the research journal of the Fresno County Genealogical Society. Thanks in advance for your consideration, and thanks also for your contributions to Find A Grave.

Request
You posted a picture of the Wright Cemetery in the Washington Co., IN area. If you live in that area, please contact me. Someone [not you :^) ] posted a headstone to http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=18070015 and I have a question about the cemetery. Thanks.

James Richards
Pvt Henry Ament
Hi,

I would like to suggest the following be added to his biography (I tried to send this through the edit function but I keep getting an error):

"In his wife's (Belle Richardson Ament) petition for a pension after his death (visible on FamilySearch.org), she wrote that he was born near Howe Valley, Hardin County, Kentucky and they were married in Breckenridge County. She also wrote that he joined the Confederate Army in October 1864 and served in Captain Press Williams' Company and in Chenoweth's Cavalry Regiment until the end of the Civil War. He, with his unit, returned to Elizabethown and surrendered there on May 8, 1865."

Thanks.

Hi Doug, Thank you for taking the photo of the Pioneer Cemetery. I would like your permission to use your photo for my ancestors buried at Pioneer Cemetery? I have been using it after our last conversation but want to make sure that I have your permission to continue to do so? Thank you, Gary Stanford Find A Grave #48432959.

Ruth E. Hartledge Thompson Skaggs
Doug - Would you please link Ruth E. Hartledge Thompson Skaggs with her first husband Donald E. Thompson, your #55188547? After Donald's death she remarried on Nov. 18. 1983 in Jefferson Co., KY to Kermit T. Skaggs. She was Ruth Thompson Skaggs in her obit, but Mr. Skaggs was not listed as a survivor. Thanks.

Karen Prather
Elizabeth Champion Williamson
The birth date should be 1781. She is one of my patriot's wife. I can't read the tombstone picture you have posted. Would it be possible to either post a clearer picture or send me the picture so I can try and make it readable and submit it with a DAR Application Supplemental to prove her birth and death date?

Thank you,
Karen
