I have a question about Elma Jones Craig. Are you a family member with personal knowledge of this name?

I'll talk to them about it this week. If they tell me that there are supposed to be markers other than the large upright, I will see what I can do about having them uncovered. I'll be getting back to you.
Robin left me a message and she is working on looking for her transcription of the cemetery in Iowa. The stone she may have seen had to have been a cenotaph, because Inglewood confirmed that Binnie is buried here in the same plot (Sequoia 405) as her husband.
Did you ever hear back from Inglewood as to the existence of flat markers that might be buried? I was going to ask but I forgot. So I wondered if you called them.
|B.J. Waters||RE: Sewards @ Inglewood|
Well, I only had to brush the dust off of Binnie's marker, nothing else was necessary. I think it only says "Seward" on the other side of the upright monument. I only photographed the front because as it is, I took two views of it, and thought it would just take up photo space if I put the view of the back. If you want one, I can put it on my list for next visit.
As far as there being markers that are covered up, I checked with a 6-inch trowel all around the upright and could not feel anything. If they have buried markers, they are more than 6 inches deep. If you want to call them to confirm the existence of markers, I won't be offended at all if you get back to me about it. If there are buried markers, I will need to place a work order to have them uncovered, and it would take a week or so to go back and get new photos.
So if you call them, please let me know what they say. Let them know that you have a photo of the upright, but are wondering about the individual markers. They will have to pull the cardex because the computerized record may only say "yes" to a marker, but that may be in reference to the upright, so please be specific and ask about flat, individual markers. Since Frederick was a Civil War soldier, he should have a military marker! I'm finding out that not all soldiers end up with one.
I will look forward to receiving more information from you.
PS - If we never hear back from Robin Cleland, I will just keep the memorial for Binnie as is.

Hello. I am about to fulfill your photo requests and just wanted you to know that there is only an upright monument for Frederick and Emma Seward, no individual headstones, so I am putting only a photo of the monument on their memorials.
Also, Binnie does have a marker and I believe she is buried here. The CA Death index shows that she died in Los Angeles County.
If there is a marker for her in New York, I believe that memorial should be designated as a cenotaph. However, her New York memorial does not have a photo of a headstone. I have put in a request to the manager of that memorial to send some kind of proof. If it turns out she is buried in New York, then the memorial I created can be designated as a cenotaph. There will be no need to delete it, unless there is no existing marker at the New York cemetery. If the person who created that memorial just assumed she was buried there, but had no proof, then that original memorial can be changed to reflect the location in Inglewood. We'll have to wait and hear back from that person.
I found two of the three Skau headstones that you requested. The third does not have a headstone so I took a photograph of the area. There is space around the Skau family where George may be without headstone. I found two other Skau headstones nearby and will transfer management of those two to you shortly.

I know Bernard. He had my father in high school. I knew his father when I was security at El Cerrito Plaza security and he was on Albany PD. He is probably coming up to visit family and friends. He is a funeral director somewhere down in southern CA.

I do not know of any better information then from the cemetery itself who provided this to me. When at Sunset View next week I will confirm.

Glad to be of assistance!
I'll try to get across to Wiltshire sometime, to take a picture of Francis Kent's grave, which is not attenuated in the way you so dislike. However, this may not be possible for some time.
