STANDS AMONG THE REST,
FORGOTTEN AND FORLORN.
YOUR NAME AND DATE ARE CHISELED OUT,
ON SLATE OR OLD LIMESTONE,
IT REACHES OUT TO ALL WHO CARE,
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO MOURN.
YOU DID NOT KNOW THAT I EXIST,
YOU DIED AND I WAS BORN.
YET, EACH OF US ARE CELLS OF YOU,
OF FLESH AND BLOOD AND BONE
OUR HEART CONTRACTS AND BEATS A PULSE,
ENTIRELY NOT OUR OWN.
DEAR ANCESTOR, THE PLACE YOU FILLED,
SO MANY YEARS AGO,
SPREAD OUT AMONG THE ONES YOU LEFT,
WHO WOULD HAVE LOVED YOU SO.
I KNOW THAT YOU LIVED AND LOVED,
BUT, I WONDER IF YOU KNEW,
SOMEDAY I WOULD FIND THIS SPOT,
AND COME TO VISIT YOU.

Thanks for the obit info. I paraphrased it as it is copy-written and cannot be posted exactly the same as the obit. The website states: "For personal use only - May not be copied and published on other websites or hard copy record" Ridiculous, but there you have it. I referenced it back to the obit site so folks can check it out for themselves as to the exact wording. Marji
Thank you searching for his stone.

HI ROBERTA...I GOT THE PICTURES TAKEN YESTERDAY, BUT, I HAD PROBLEMS LOADING THEM ON FIND-A-GRAVE. I HAVE A BOOK OF SOUTH WHITLEY CEMETERY IF I CAN HELP??? LET ME KNOW. IT WOULD BE GREAT TO MEET SOMEONE ELSE THAT DOES FIND-A-GRAVE. THANKS...JODIE
I surely do appreciate all your efforts on behalf of our Cress family, Roberta. Thank you.

This is a surprise! Thank you for the transfer. He was a proud Seabee - just like my dad was - and my dad was proud of them all. Thank you...

Thank you for everything you have done and for transferring the Hardenbrook sites to me.
I may find more relatives that you have maintained so nicely, but I won't know they are my relatives for sure, until I do research.
Please be patient with me. :-)
Thank you VERY much!!!
Carol B.C. Honkanen
Did you ever find anything relative to the Cress family store in Syracuse? I do not have any info about that and live so far away.
Appreciate all you have done to help me get in touch with my father's family history there in Noble County.
