Bio Photo *** Apologies if I'm not responsive in a timely manner, trying to maintain focus on the job at hand and (300+) emails are collecting that I have flagged to deal with ***

Junior genealogist - with an email address, a car and a digital camera.

Photos I take belong to the people who ask for them. You are free to do whatever you wish to with them. I ask that they not be published on pay-to-view sites.

I want to thank everyone who has stepped up and offered corrections or taken transfers for the cemeteries I've been working, it's been a rewarding experience.

I am in the process of visiting all of Danvers cemeteries and ensuring they are fully catalogued. I am only posting fresh photos when I think mine are better or show something different. If you object, drop me a line and we can chat.

Currently working Walnut Grove, running at a rate of about 450 photos a week - "Mom" has done the hard work of filing memorials. At this rate we may be done by June. Corrections most welcome.

----

I do take breaks and handle occasional photo requests - if you have a location, that makes it a lot more tempting. It's a challenge to walk a large cemetery looking for two headstones and then have 4 more requests for the same cemetery a week later.

I trim my messages and only leave those that I need to do something about - I'm not hating you, just trying to use the messages to advantage. (Although I think I will keep the message from Billie forever - such an inspiration)

Complete: (Using Mass Vital Records numbering)
GR1 Wadsworth - added some 400 memorials and photos.
GR2 Nurse (checked - was complete)
GR3 Endicott (checked - was complete)
GR4 Preston (tucked away behind Putnam - added a few (NEEDS TO BE RE-DONE - MISSED A LOT)
GR5 Prince (catalogued and photographed)
GR6 Putnam (catalogued and photographed)
GR7 Russell (checked - added a few missing ones)
GR8 Porters Burying Ground (High street - added a few)
GR9 Holten - fair sized
Completely photographed. ~1400 added to date.
Some of the photos are less than optimal. Let me know if you find a horrible one that should be re-taken. Holten has run out of land and money. The town is trying to figure out what to do
GR13 Hutchinson (catalogued and photographed)
GR14 (Tapley / Preston) Old Settlers - (Photographed)
GR15 Putnamville (checked - was complete)
GR16 Swin(n)erton (checked - was complete)
GR20 Buxton/Goodale (checked - was complete)
GR21 Pope private burial ground, Finally found it! Photographed.
.(GR7/Beverly in MVR) Leech/East Danvers (checked - was complete)

In Progress
GR11 Walnut Grove - Starting with Section C - 72% photographed. I'm surprised we found that many. Section B - 74% - about to go back over it. Working Section A - 73%. done. Section D is 41% done, another 1300 photos to go through, then it's back to looking for the missing headstones in B, A and D.
??? St Mary Sylvan St - moderate size, but Catholic, so every headstone has 20 names.
??? Xavierian (waiting for SJP to file obits to add remaining 200+ photos) - perhaps a student project?

In Queue
??? Danvers State Hospital - finally found it!
??? Anshe Sfard - there are about 10 cemeteries back in those woods
??? Annunciation - Large

Defunct - exist in records, but not on the ground.
??? Potter's field (off Adams street, empty lot behind St Mary's, but no headstones)
??? Porter Cemetery (not on FaG, off locust street, near Connors farm) - Although I have seen recent clues as to a cemetery near here - it still evades me, but then the location given for Potter's field was way off.
GR17 Pedricks Cemetery (not on FaG) (behind the high school I suppose accessible from the Rail Trail, only has one headstone which I gather has since vanished)
GR10 Putnam (off Sylvan street, bodies moved to Porter's ca. 1920)
GR12 Jacobs private burial ground, Gardner's Hill (have not found)

Thanks so much for your attempts. I always wonder why stones are removed.

Hi Jack

Could you put the photo you have on #93487914 on #46467990 which is the original memorial?
I sent a message to the other person to remove #93487914, as the original was made in 2010.
Thanks! Alexis

Jack, Thank you for the updates; I'll check the stones and update my pics. It is pretty amazing that all of the 7 stones from the late 1700s-early 1800s are in good shape; good craftsmanship and/or good care, I guess! Have a great day! Kathy

That is an interesting observation...a perspective that maybe only wandering through cemeteries affords. Your dedication to the preservation of history, through documentation of all the Danvers area cemeteries, is impressive. I, and future generations of family researchers, thank you! Kathy

Hi, Jack! I wouldn't call the photo "dreadful", just a bit dark--but perfectly legible once enlarged. No need to update it unless you feel compelled to do so. Thanks for transferring the memorial to me! Kathy
