James/Schrock Cemetery - Portage
Brendan Clancy announced at his State of the Township address at the Bonner Senior Center on Feb. 13, 2014: Improvements to James-Schrock Cemetery - A steep incline at the main entrance has prohibited access to many visitors. We are currently under construction of a new entrance into James/Schrock Cemetery. As soon as the weather cooperates we will continue with this project. Also, a new James-Schrock memorial monument will be installed at McCool Cemetery. This monument will list the names of the deceased at James-Schrock Cemetery. A dedication ceremony is being planned.~Kathy

Wolfgang Wittich
I'm trying to track down Wolfgang's daughter, Mary Jane Wittich. Do you know if she married, and if so, what her married name is? Any other information about her would be helpful as well.

Thank you.

RE: Robert Moody
Yes, both widow and son are alive. Robert Moody served overseas in the front lines. He returned to Camp Pendleton to be a demolition instructor. I hand grenade blew up in his face. Camp Pendleton is near her family's home. They were living together off base when the accident happened. Their son was born three weeks after Robert's death.

Thank you Eva, I made the change you requested. He is buried next to my family, and is related to my Uncle through his mother, Dorothea Groth Linn. I have attached him to his father.

90735258 FIND A GRAVE
Hello Eva:
Your report above IS my grandfather. As I understand he was buried next to his wife Louisa at Westville Cemetery, not Furnessville. I have not been able to find a headstone for either. Since there was an autopsy done maybe there is a record in either Michigan City or Chestertons medical office. Maybe you can shed some light on this.

As to your report showing the oldest ancestor as Jacob, he was not born in Germany but in Scotland. I have his military enlistment record showing Scotland as his birth place.
I have never been able to find the city where he was born(1726) or where in NY he was buried. I have a picture of his wifes grave stone.
Thanks for you input.

RE: Catherine Barrett
Yes, she is the one. There were three William Barretts born about the same time and living in the same area. Some websites list the son of Alexander and Malona as the husband of Sophia Ellen Brewer. I traced the Alexander Barrett (thinking it was mine)line for quite some time until I received the obitury for Catherine Barrett. I was trying to figured out why my grandma would have this obit. Catherine was my grandma's great aunt.

Anyway, just wanted to compared notes and see.

I know Catherine and William's (my 2nd ggp) mother was Mary Elizabeth Young. I found her and Jacob's marriage entry in Miami County, Ohio in 1832. I believe she died between 1850-1853 and that all I know of her. I don't know where she is buried or her parents.
