Bio Photo (John C. Carter)

(Will be spending part of the summer in southwestern Maine).

Happy to photograph at any cemetery in the Tampa Bay, FL area! (or in the Lakes Region of SW Maine).

Born in Dover, DE, (to parents from NJ & WV), I lived in southern CA until age 12, & then in Raton, (a small town in N.E. New Mexico), which I consider my home town. I attended NM State Univ for 4 years (with a 1-yr exchange to Oregon State Univ), but did not complete a degree at that time, & later moved back to southern CA, settling in the Orange County area. After 10 yrs in the O.C., I moved to St. Petersburg, FL (Tampa Bay area) in 1990, & have been here ever since.

I have avidly worked on my family's genealogy since the age of 15 ... 42 years ago!

I am a 27-yr member (and former chapter registrar) of the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) with 7 qualifying ancestors submitted (more to come!), a member of the SUVCW (Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War) with 10 qualifying ancestors or brothers of ancestors (more to come!), a member of the SVR (Sons of Veterans Reserve--affiliated with the SUVCW), a member of the S&DUSCT (Sons & Daughters of U.S. Colored Troops), a member of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Indians of New Jersey, and an associate member of the Lenape Indian Tribe of Delaware.

(Click on my profile pic above to read the story of the Civil War ancestor with whose headstone I'm posing).

I'm very proud that every single branch of my ancestry has been in America since at least pre-Revolutionary times.

Having taken numerous college courses over the years, I finally bit the bullet & enrolled in a program in 2003 to complete my degree, & graduated from Eckerd College (a local, private, liberal arts college) in May 2005 with a B.A. in Creative Writing.

Besides genealogy & writing, my other interests include: clock collecting, books, movies, photography, geocaching, the Civil War, the space program, many types of music, & visiting cemeteries!

Thanks to the creators of this site for doing such a great job!

Raenette Hart
Kidd Family
Hi my name is Raenette Hart. Bryant Kidd and Rebecca Oaks were my fourth great grandparents. I am so happy that I found out where they are buried. I had read on a site from RebeccacOaks side of the family that Mr. Bowman took their head stones off their graves and used them for a filler of his back porch.
I now live in Calvert City KY. I would love to know more about my family. My great grandma Mary Ann Kidd Hunley was James Wesley kidds daughter. james I do believe was Bryants great grandson.
I look forward to your reply truly yours
Raenette Hart.

RE: Elmira Siler Oaks
I have no document to prove her parents. I got her

Elizabeth Jane
Wm., Nancy, Nelson, Elmira, Newton are in same cem.

RE: Goldsboro/Goldsborough birth/death locations
Hi there! The Goldsboro/Goldsborough Families have a long history in Cumberland County, New Jersey with very little travel outside of the area according to numerous censuses and some other family trees.

RE: Your photo request for Mary S. Cook
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the effort you made to find this marker and share the information with me. I am sure her stone would have been lost if you hadn't done this search. Thank you again.
