A native of Louisville, Kentucky, I've lived since 1998 in the Historic Licking Riverside Neighborhood of Covington directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. My primary interest is photographing the surviving Grabinschriften of the German immigrants who settled in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region, especially the members of the Deutsche Pionier-Verein. The first big break in my German research came in 1991 when I identified the birthplace of my 4th-great-grandparents, Johann Michael Hillerich (1795-1879) and his wife Anna Apollonia Ritter Hillerich (1799-1876). Michael's grandfather Johann Lorenz Hillerich (1734-1798), his great-grandfather Albert Hillerich (1706-1765), and his 2nd-great-grandfather Paulus Ostner (d. 1751) were all foresters and gamekeepers for Fürst Karl Thomas zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort (1714-1789), and Michael's great-grandmother Maria Eva Ostner Hillerich (1713-1752) was a granddaughter of Fürst Maximilian Karl Albrecht zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort (1656-1718), opening the door to some interesting German ancestry. |

|Vern Goetz||PVT Johannes Goetz FAG Record|
Mr. Whiteside: For Johannes' siblings, you've left off a key one & a confusing one to some: Johan Georg Goetz, b. 1823. Vern Goetz
This gentleman from German contacted me a while ago regarding Friedrich Lamping buried at Holy Family Cemetery in Oldenburg, Indiana. I wasn't able to help him. I thought I'd pass along his name in case it was of any interest to you in regards to your general research and for possible tips on the Lamping family.
"Friedrich H. Lamping
I'm german researcher for the Heritage Society in Lohne/Oldenburg: www.heimatverein-lohne.de
I found by findagrave your record of Friedrich H Lamping, born 21.Apr.1816 in Kappeln/Oldenburg.
It could be Cappeln and his wife could be Elisabeth Willenborg, born 30.Oct.1820 in Lohne.
This couple emigrated 1861 with 4 children.
Her record shows two Frederik Lamping as spouces. Could the first on be his stepfather of Lohne?
Have you mor details?
Thank you for helps,
Werner Honkomp, Oldenburg
