|L. Finley||RE: Mary (Porter) Johnson|
We're distantly related (Mary's husband, Richard Johnson, is my 1st cousin 9x removed) :).
As to you question on documentation for Mary's parents/birthdate. I checked my family tree, and I do not have source documentation for the date (nothing in Barber's town records or elsewhere). However, I have the 1930 Sons of the American Revolution application of George Herman Johnson, detailing Richard & Mary (birth list'sed only as 1706)Porter Johnson as Elihu Johnson (subject of the app.)parents.
Also, below is Jane Devlin's transcription of William Porter's Probate listing 'Mary' as his daughter:

Hope this helps,
|Wilma||RE: Mary (Marah) Miller|
Some years ago I found an article in the New England Historic and Genealogical Register titled "Epitaphs in the Old Burying Place, communicated by Samuel H. Parson Esq 1861 with an entry "Here lies Mary Miller, the wife of Benjamin Miller, who dyed December the 15th 1709, aged 35 years. She Did desire to serve the Lord Her Master that God and Christ might save and not forsake her." The Old Burying Place was described in the Register as established in Middletown CT AD 16650, upon the west bank of the Connecticut River.
Thanks for all your assistance.

I lost my preious message to you in the process of back-spacing. If it arrived and sounded abrupt, I apologize.
Thanks very much for sending me the correction. Is there a name for the oldest cemetery in the town where I should transfer her entry? I would be glad to do so if you can direct me in the right place to go. Or does your link do the job?
