Bio

The attached photo is from 411 N. Wilmington St. Raleigh NC, my mother's childhood home. A home which no longer exists along with many others in the surrounding area between Peace College and the State Capitol.

I primarily research ties to Wake County. My surnames include Carver, Gill, John Davis d Aug 1829, Dunn, High, Horn, Moring, Mobley, Strickland, Taylor(Nash Co) maternal line.

Surnames in Rockingham and Caswell Co include Alcorn AKA Alcon,Betts,Fitzgerald,Mills,Nunnally,Powell,Robertson,Stubblefield paternal line.

I've posted many photos from the NC yearbook collection which are available on at line at ncgenweb.us/nc/bookshelf/yearbooks/ The vast majority of photos I have used are from 1930 and earlier yearbooks. After contacting several schools over the use of these photos and copyright law, I have been told as long as I'm not profiting from them and have listed the source, I'm in compliance with the law under the guideline of fair use. As of early 2012 and ancestry including yearbooks on their website, the issue of photos and copyright issues would appear to be a mute point. If a family member wishes me to remove any photo I have posted, just let me know.

Many of the memorials I have added have been to Oakwood & Montlawn. Genealogy is my first love. I enjoy finding the elusive badly transcribed records that help document families. The memorial's and photo's I add are done so with much respect to that individual, their family and the history of North Carolina. The majority of the memorials will be part of my Wake County "Six Degrees of Separation" Tree. Visits to Oakwood in Aug 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020. As of July 2022 I have 148,000+ individuals documented with 8000+ buried at Oakwood and 6700+ at Montlawn.

I do like to link and if I have not, it is just an oversight on my part. Thanks to all that help with my suggestions/requests and the new edit feature which makes that so much easier now. All memorials deserved to be linked to their family no matter how long they lived or whether they have descendants.

I only take over management of FAG managed memorials if I can link to a parent or spouse.
