I changed my name on Find A Grave from Walt to Gregg, as I am more known by the latter by friends and family in Taylor County.

Retired USAF, living and doing most research in Saloma and northern half of Taylor County, KY.

My first two Ancestors, Robert and Ezekiel Young came to Green County in the early 1800's. Robert settled in the area between Saloma and Willowtown in the areas that was Green County but now Taylor County. Ezekiel settled and ran a mill on Big Brush Creek in Bloyd (not to be confused with Bloyd Crossing), the area remaining Green County. I am descended from Robert, son of Ezekiel (1735).

I have a complete burial list for Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Jones Creek Cemetery, plus selected photos of gravestones. I just added a List for the Saloma Cemetery.

I have a list for the Young-Bloyd-Pierce Cemetery located at Bloyd, in Green County, KY, similar to the one here on Find A Grave. I also have selected photos of gravestones (but not all) of the Youngs, Bloyds and Pierces.

See links below for the website. I plan to cover more cemeteries in Taylor County as time permits.

RE: Birth/Death Dates
That would be Sec. K, I reset the marker after it was knocked down. Right across from Squires Body Shop. Each section has a concrete marker on the Main Street side. One was broken in half in front of the school, and I mended it together.

RE: Birth/Death Dates
There was a lady that took all the pics at Saloma, do not know if she posted them yet or not.

RE: Birth/Death Dates
I think Judy Lynn has photographed all the stones and posted them on Find A Grave. I have trouble walking there due to the ruts, holes, etc. I cleaned up the eastern side and exposed the crypt near the storage bldg. couple years ago. I got the Robinson stones in Sec. A. Also uprighted 2 Atkinson stones in Sec G. I know Parrott and Lyon have their own maps showing where people were buried.

If I can be of any help, let me know.

RE: Birth/Death Dates
I have seen what you are saying before. If the death cert were available, that would be the correct dates. Or you could check with the funeral home if they still exist. I would make a notation that the dates are different. Will be looking for your survey. Photos of each would be great also.

Young Bloyd pictures
I am so happy to see the pictures you have posted. I was at the cemetery about 5 years ago when it had not been mowed. It was a real challenge finding the tombstones!
