Thanks so much for taking the photo of Velma Howland's grave. I was her son's 4th grade teacher, and they were a special family and community to me., I appreciate your time and efforts!!

Hi Sarah,

John James "JJ" McCartan was my paternal great grandfather. I did not know him, he died before I was born. But I knew all of his children, except Austin who also died before I was born. I am also godfather to 2 of Michael and Peggy McCartans children. Michael was the son of Mary Nolan and Francis McCartan. Francis was John J.'s son.
If you would like, feel free to visit my family tree information in ancestry ("Mullen" family tree). It is maintained by my wife Sandi (sandi803).
Thank you.

Ellen McCartan
Hi Sarah,

Thank you so much for adding Ellen.
But now I'm confused, are Ellen and Thomas at Calvary or Clinton-Garfield cemetery in Pocahontas county?
Thank you for your help.

Hi Sarah,
Thank you so much for the headstone picture for Thomas McCartan. I was wondering if there was a headstone for his wife Ellen/Ella Collins McCartan nearby. I'm not sure if she is buried there so I haven't set her up in find a grave. Any information you might have would be appreciated.
Thank you!
