John James Armstrong was born in Amarillo, Potter County, TX, the son of David Clinton and Anna Marie (Goranson) Armstrong. He was reared on the family farm out from Panhandle, Carson County, TX. John graduated from Panhandle High School and The University of Texas at Austin with a BS degree in Pharmacy. He resided in MD and AL as a pharmacist for the U.S. Public Health Service. He resigned his commission and returned to Greenville, TX, where for a year he pursued a MS degree in computer science becoming a graduate school dropout. He continued his pharmacist career with McGaughey, Revco, Eckerd, and Super 1 Foods & Discount Pharmacy|
His genealogy interest was inspired by an aunt, Gladys Mae Armstrong (1900-1991), in the late 1970's. From there the interest has grown more into assisting others in their research where he can rather than doing research on his family. His particular interest is in newspaper indexation as shown in a way with the Website address. The photo is from a few years back... To God be the Glory, Great Things He Has Done!

Please remove her memorial, she is still alive. Here is the rule from FindAGrave concerning this:
Memorials for individuals who are alive will be removed when requested (the exception being for 'famous' individuals who already have a burial location in place).

Thank you for the family links on Mayme Baker. I can see that you have been working on the Brandon family so I transferred her memorial to you. Connie
|Cheryl Hudgins Ogle||Hayter/transfer|
Thank you so much for the transfer and for your hard work on so many memorials. As I research, I may request more since you seem to have found so many Hayters in the Hunt area.
Thank you so much for the edits for the Cox and Sprinkle relatives. I'm sorry it took me awhile, I keep forgetting that edits tab is there now. :)

|Randy Phillips||Charles Benson(Binson) Plunkett|
Hello, I am a descendent of Charles Plunkett. We are trying to locate information on his wife named, Almyra, Elmira, or Mira [Smith] Plunkett. We don't know her death date or for sure where she is buried. Family lore has it that she is buried in the Liberty cemetery with Charles but there is no record of that. We know she preceded him in death. And that she was listed in the 1930 census for Hunt Co. Texas. She also had ties to Arkansas as that's where she was born. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for the quick edits on all those I sent to you. It's greatly appreciated.
Just wanted to say thanks, and its no problem at all. I sent you a few more, but hopefully that should be the last of them.
So many people don't realize how much clean/dirty data affects the search-ability of the site (and then they get mad at me for sending corrections).
I don't know why the spreadsheet uploads are set up like they are, but I have seen some strange prefix and suffix mistakes in a few older memorials, so I can only guess that they were disabled to prevent more of those from happening. Unfortunately, it creates more work for those that use that method.
Again, thank you for your help and understanding and keep up the good work!

I suggested a name change for Delores Webb based on the information given me by the office staff at Resthaven. Their records show the M is for Mina.
