Bio and Links
Bio Photo During the past dozen or so years, I have been researching my family history. I am not a professional genealogist. Genealogy is a hobby for me. It is constantly a challenge, as each peace of new information sometimes changes, or questions, an older piece of information. Accuracy is very important to me. Bad or inaccurate information not only distracts research, it is a waste to the researchers time. is a wonderful help in my research of family lines. Most memorials or pictures I post are either an ancestor of mine or a request for a photo of a memorial from Also I am posting memorials located in my general area of Sevier County Tennessee, even thought they are not ancestors of mine.

If I post any entry or picture on findagrave that is not correct, please let me know about it, and I will correct with sufficient proof. At the same time, if I see what I believe to be an error on findagrave, I will email the source person.

My thing is to post accurate info, to help others with picture requests in cemeteries I visit, and to correct any discrepancies I find to help fellow genealogist. I appreciate those of you that have the time and take much effort to locate and post cemeteries, memorials, pictures, and additional information.

I got those three memorials transferred to the other cemetery so you can post the tombstone photos. Sorry took so long I forgot. Thanks

RE: Sugarlands Cemetery
Hi Dean,

As far as I know there is only the one cemetery called Sugarlands cemetery. I did a little background check on the Isaac Parton you're looking for. He was born the 2 Dec 1852 or 56 and died 3 May 1914. His parents were Elisha Wilburn Parton (1828 Haywood Co., NC - 18 Jun 1864 Andersonville, Ga.)and Martha Adeline Whaley (1829 Tn. - 19 Nov 1873 Sevier Co.) who were married around 1846. Looks like his dad served during the Civil War.
His mother Martha was buried in Rector Creek Cemetery. Isaac's second wife, Martha Rachael Ogle, was buried in Evans Chapel (Locust Ridge) Cemetery. If you're trying to fufill the photo request, I would try looking for him in either Rector Creek or Evans Chapel...he's probably not in Sugarlands.

Hope I helped,

William and Frances Farley. I have 3 requests open for the Spindale Cemetery in NC. Are you anywhere close to that area? It is in Rutherford County.

I just wanted to say thank you for filling my request. Having this additional reference really helps.

Hi Charles,

Thanks for the update and the info! Yes, I agree that at times, men around here married someone young enough to be their daughter the 2nd time around! I knew it was a possibility, but was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. That did cause some friction for the kids who suddenly had a step-mom their own age. Haha!

Hope you're doing alright,

It's so hot, guess you must have gone very early! Thanks for all your efforts at Bryson City to find people. I tried to find info on Sonora with no success. Wanted to find her parents perhaps. I agree, there are so many in that cemetery that could be posted and photographed. appreciate your time.
