As I am not related to most of the memorials I have created on this site, I will transfer to family members, however distant. I only request that the request be made via the edit field within the memorial. |
TO THOSE OF YOU "STILL" QUESTIONING MY INPUT FOR OLD SWEDES CHURCHYARD IN DELAWARE, MY INPUTS WERE FROM THE CHURCH RECORDS AT THE TIME I INPUT THEM. NASTY NOTES ARE NOT NECESSARY AS I WILL MAKE ANY CORRECTIONS NECESSARY. OR SHOULD YOU DECIDE TO CREATE A NEW MEMORIAL, I WILL BE HAPPY TO DELETE MY ENTRY IF NOT CORRECT.
PLEASE USE THE EDIT FUNCTION TO REQUEST TRANSFERS AS I WILL NEED YOUR MEMBER NUMBER !!!!!!!

I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am working on a project to identify the last resting places of many of our "old soldiers" that had ties to Vt. Samuel Stratton is one such patriot. May I use the photo that you contributed to his Find A Grave Memorial page, to post on the Vt.Civil War site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org
You would receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.
Looked up that member. Person is new to Find A Grave, correct? If so maybe just needs direction. And does name stand for "genealogy"? I don't know.
I saw your message about Old Swedes. I've photographed all stones here---readable or not. I've received messages as well. Grrrrrrr. My feeling is this is a very old historic cemetery and stones are fragile (at best). Better to have something than nothing at all is my view. Hopefully someday someone can match up correctly with the records they have there. That would be a major project, but worthwhile. Ignore the nasty!!! Like I said, better to have a crumbling stone than no stone at all.
Another steamy hot day :( Looking forward to cooler weather so I can get back out to cemeteries.

Hi Joz, you never bother me :)
I would contact Find-A-Grave management. Think there's a link for that. And I agree with you. Inappropriate. Good luck!
Have a peaceful day---Kimberly

|Rhonda Allison||Benjamin BURR d 1682|
Hi there. You have several Burr's listed as buried in Delaware. That is a memorial stone!!! I found an old newpaper article from The New York Times Jan 14 1894 from the Willmington Delaware News. An article about the BURR FAMILY MONUMENT. Horace had a monument containing the names of the Burr family erected on the burial lot belonging to the Burr family in Old Swedes Cemetery. Dr Horace Burr, an ancestor, had it erected in the Old Swede Cemetery in Delaware. His, meaning HORACE's family, are buried there. Not his ancestors. He wanted the history to be shared. Benjamin and Anna and their GREATgrandson Nathaniel (son of Jonathan, son of Samuel) and his 6 sons including Samuel who I have DAR records for, are listed on that memorial stone!!! They died and were buried in CT. People copy wrong information and it gets confusing to straighten it all out!!!
Hope you will correct!!! :)

Hi Joz: Someone let me know that there are two entries for Mr. Harkins. Yours was done sooner and I'd like transfer mine to you. Maybe you can merge the information together.
The memorial on my F. A. G. memorial is #10220807.
Please let me know and I'll take care of it.
Do you know if David H. Wingate 1825 birth, was the father of J. Maris Wingate 1871 birth. And was his wife Hannah? Thanks, Lynne M. Rose, direct descendent of Cora and Maris Wingate, Ruth Anna Wingate Smith Alvarado, was my grandmother.
Thank you for updating their memorials, very much appreciated. Happy hunting!

|Rockieg||Thanks for obits|
Thanks so much for adding obits to memorials. It's so helpful. I know this is time consuming and it is much appreciated. Thanks for also posting pictures of the tombstones.

Hi Joz, thank you so much for taking the time to place obits on memorials. I'm learning facts behind family stories.
|Diane Merten||Grave marker in Old Union United Methodist Church Cemetery|
Thank you for adding the photo of the grave marker that shows up for John Fisher #5226352 and for Irene Fisher # 5226355.
I am hoping you would tell me the data on the grave marker as I cannot read it and when I click on the marker to make it larger, it shows up on an individual page, but no larger and I cannot read it.
Can you please take time to let me know all the data on that marker? I would be so very grateful.
Diane Frischknecht Merten
