RE: White cemetery
I personally do not know. I filled a photo request, that's why I went there.

Francis Brian is oldest headstone with 1823 date.
Lydia Morgan White is next with 1834 date.
So may be Brian or White as land owner. I would think it was named for whoever donated land, but that doesn't always hold true. Genweb may have land records. Also you can look for land grants or patents. Checking census records may be of help. Sometimes it will list if a person is a land owner or tenant. Court house would have land records also some libraries have genealogy records. There were 12 unmarked graves at the other White cemetery farther down the road on the left.

Good luck and happy hunting!

I sent you a message about this memorial but on checking further, there may be two men of the same name, about the same age, who both came from Germany and died in the same month. I will let you know if I find more.

RE: Nerenbaum's in Greenwood Cemetery
I'm afraid not. I just visit Greenwood Cemetery a lot in the fall and winter. Is there something I can help you with?

RE: Charles Steen, Sr.
Yes, Daisy Lillie Steen married Marshall M. Morgan (1889-1984). They married on March 8, 1915 in Louisiana. They had four children that I know of: Marshal, Jr., Bernard, Elizabeth and Evelyn.

On the 1920 census they were living in Pascagoula, Jackson, Mississippi; 1930 census living in Houston, Harris, Texas (quite a few of the Steen's went there), but by 1935 they were back in Louisiana living in Vermilion Parish where they also appeared on the 1940 census.

I have a comment on my family tree about Daisy and Marshall that they must have divorced sometime after the 1940 census but before 1950:

"Marshall and Daisy must have divorced as it appears that he remarried sometime after the 1940 census was taken but before a nephew by his 2nd marriage was born in 1950 (see comments)*"

*Someone left this comment on my tree about Marshall, Sr.

"Marshall M. Morgan's 2nd Wife Evelyn: Marshall "Mac" Morgan was married to my mother's sister Evelyn Nelson. "Nelson" was her maiden name. Evelyn was the daughter of Sandy Alexander Nelson and Mary Findlay from Alabama. Evelyn was married once before she married Mac. I think her first husband was named George but I can't remember his last name. Her first husband died before she married Mac Morgan. I don't know the date that Evelyn married Mac, but I know it was before I was born in 1950. I have very fond childhood memories of Mac Morgan. He was my favorite uncle even though he was not my blood uncle. He was a wonderful person!"

Marshall's parents were John Y. Morgan and Marguerite (maiden name unknown).

Marshall born Jan 1, 1889 in Scranton, Jackson Co., Mississippi and died Jan 1, 1984 in Pascagoula, Jackson Co., Mississippi.

Daisy Steen was my 2nd cousin, 3x removed so we didn't go much further on research for Marshall.

Hope this helps.

RE: Johnson, John OTC - your claim
:). He probably doesn't have one anyway since the project is pretty much done at the cemetery.

Johnson, John OTC - your claim
Hi there...did you get an actual grave number for him? That's a hill area but if he is low on the hill, I might try to get the photo the next time I go. Sorry your claim expired. :(

Hope all is well !!!!!
