I retired from the navy in 1991, and then worked a few more years. In 2006 I retired again (my wife says I was to young to retire so I needed hobbies.) I find doing family history work to be an enjoyable hobby.

Feel free to use any photo I have posted. I believe sharing is one of the many nice wonders of this site.

I will galdly transfer any memorials I have created to any direct family member requesting them. Please include what your relation is and please use the edit link to request trasfers.
(NOTE: if I have requested infromation from you I will not transfer memorials till I receive the information.)

If you find an error or have any additional information on any of the memorials I have created please send me the additonal infromation or corrections, again please use the edit feature.

A special THANKS goes out to all of you who have already done so much for this site.

RE: ? on Maple leaf Cemetery
Guess I didn't explain that very well. We think Leonard Peterson (burial listing) and Len Peterson (headstone) are the same person. Allen is the other headstone, above Len's.

I would love to give each of the Wooles Twins their own memorial page. I'll talk with the girls and see if any of them would like to research this. If not, I know others who will.

Maybe I typed the email wrong. Try: ywembark2015@gmail.com. If that doesn't work you can use: aka8isenuf@gmail.com.

RE: Allen Nienhuis and Len Peterson
I was figuring the death date difference was because the headstone would reflect death date, the burial listing is the internment date. That would mean he was buried about 8 days after passing away. Our email is ywembark2015@gmail.com.

Thanks again for all that you are doing to keep up. I know it has been a lot of checking and work for you. I am working with a group of young women (teens) who started this as a service project to fill requests and decided they wanted to complete the cemetery. Now they are making noises about wanting to learn how to clean/restore headstones!

Grave Markers
Ross, just because their names are on a grave marker, it don't mean they are dead. Many spouses have both names added when one partner passes. A non-dead person should not be on Find a Grave.

RE: D. Worthington memorials
I found an obituary for Jerry Dean Worthington and attached it to his memorial page. His mother was "Dianne Worthington" and he is "laid to rest in the Family Plot at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Oak Harbor". Near as I can tell from mapping it out...the family takes up a total of 3 regular size lots that have been subdivided and shared (lots 56 through 59). There is considerable overlap of the surnames: Robertson, Kolb, and Worthington.

Charlen Ranstead and Charlene Reinstra also share space with these families. They have the same birth and death years. Charlene Reinstra has no headstone. There is also no headstone for Diane with one "n". Possibly Dianne was buried in one spot and her headstone placed in another?

I will try to take a group photo tomorrow and see what I can figure out from that.

Jan Hendrik Gast
Clint,
I have made a link from Marie Mensinga to Jan Hendrik Gast, he was her first husband. I wanted to send the following edit from the edit page, but it didn't want to send

Marie Mensinga's maiden name was Maria Willemina Petronella ter Horst. She married Jan Hendrik Gast in 1909 in the Netherlands. After her husband and children died in a fire, she married Herman Mensinga
My page on Jan Hendrik is http://dutchgenie.net/family/family-e-o/p185.htm

I also added his obituary. If you want to transfer the memorials, I'll take them. Jan Hendrik is my second cousin twice removed
Thanks for all the work you are doing
