When I was young, my father took me a time or two with him to photograph family gravestones. He enjoyed genealogy research. Since his death, I was given all the hard copies of his research, along with some other info from my Mom. Then one of my son-in-laws informed me that I had some Confederate soldiers in my ancestry. I enjoy history and always love to be learning, so my son-in-law's tip about my ancestry hooked me into this new hobby. And as a cousin told me, once you're bit by the genealogy bug, there is no known cure.
George Brandau's Gravesite Photos in Oakland Cemetery. Harriet, thanks again for some wonderful photos including the background of George Brandau's gravesite in Oakland Cemetery. That really makes a difference. Also I really appreciate your taking the time to make comments. If you see Mrs. Catherine Taylor Edwards again, please express my appreciation for her help. I hate to say it, but the staff at some cemeteries are not as kind and helpful as she was.
Birdie and Willie L McIlwain Grave Photos Harriet, thank you so much for the grave photos of Birdie and Willie L McIlwain in Oakland Cemetery. It's so nice to see how they actually spelled the last name - I've seen it many different ways. Thanks also for Willie's picture capturing the surroundings. That helps the location perception so much.
