Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have documented all the cemeteries in Lebanon, NH; the Etna, Hanover Center and Dana Cemeteries.
I have also documented all the Civil War soldiers within these cemeteries.
I have been researching Lebanon Residents in the Civil War; and also the Civil War Soldiers buried in Lebanon, NH Cemeteries.
I plan to include bios on all of these men.
I am secretary of the Lebanon Historical Society.
I am on the Soldiers Memorial Building Committee (Old G.A.R. Hall).
It has been brought to my attention that some contributors are using my "published" documents as their own in the Lebanon and Hanover, NH cemeteries. Any contributor that has done this must give "credit" to me for the documentation.

Cole Cemetery, Lebanon, New Hampshire
Sincere thanks for your careful enumeration and photos of the Cole Cemetery of Lebanon, New Hampshire. I am the 5th great-granddaughter of Elisha Ticknor and Ruth Knowles (1st wife), and also of Elisha Ticknor and Deborah Davis (2nd wife). Two of their grandchildren - half 1st cousins - married. Martha Leonard was Elisha Ticknor's 3rd wife. Your work is greatly appreciated!

No, I sent a transcription of the stone inscription, which is essentially the same.

Nellie M Butman grave
Hi Fran,
I am the great-great-granddaughter of Nellie M Butman and Henry H Gay; you found and photographed their grave in Lebanon, NH.

My great grandmother was Bessie E (Elizabeth), whose name is on the stone and the year she was born, but not her death year (1918 in Prince Edward Island, Canada, from renal insufficiency).

I have been searching for any information about Bessie's parents and found them recently through sleuth work and because of your photo. Even their names were a mystery to me and my mother (Bessie's granddaughter).

When Bessie married my great-grandfather, Hansen Lidstone (from PEI), there was a falling out with her family. My understanding is that Hansen was 'beneath' her status and such a marriage would be horrifically embarrassing. Love won out, I guess. She and Hansen moved to PEI and had two children who lived and I think two others who did not.

It was very exciting to find your photo, to be able to discover my great-greats and the other family names, and to be able to tell my mother her great-grandparents' names!

Thanks for posting the photo! You've helped solve one mystery.

Now on to find out more about Bessie and Henry and where they came from. I'm thinking this is a needle in a haystack sort of search...

Best wishes,

Yes, It is a sad story.

It's these little details that help to fill in those hyphens between the birth and death dates.

Fran --Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I emailed the Glenwood and phoned the Plainfield. I received no response from either cemetery. I linked my memorial with yours with an explanation.

Thank you, Fran, for removing the duplicates and thank you for all the work you do on here. I know it takes a lot of time and effort.

Are Mt. Calvary cemetery and the Glenwood cemetery connected? I visited years ago and the photos I have which I thought were Mt. Cavalry seem to be a mix of stones from the two cemeteries. I'm confused!
