I became interested in researching my family tree in about 1987. From the beginning a very important tool in my research "tool chest" has been visiting cemeteries and photographing stones of family members. The picture is of me and my research partner, my sister, M. Bishop. I'm the one really stylin' in my fashionable long skirt, however no shoes. She is smartly turned-out in her groovy high-heels, Easter basket and side-arm! Just recently we decided to post our many cemetery pictures with short bios to findagrave. We tag-team, I post the information and my sister posts the pictures. There are very few of our postings that are not our family members. There have been times, while in a cemetery photographing, I've seen stones with my family names and snapped the picture "just in case" they turned out to be in my tree. We have gone ahead and posted those pictures as we felt they might help someone looking for that person. For those not in my family, I would be glad to transfer ownership to a family member. Large numbers of entries are not our bag, but creating well presented memorials for our loved ones is. Our family lines are; Simmons, Stokes, Miller, Chennault, Coburn, King, Johnson, Walker, Thornton, Bryson, Vassar, James, Thomas & Tiller - plus many other extended families as we work back through the many generations.|

Just a quick note to let you know that I have deleted my memorial for Lula so that yours will be the one in place. Yes, the Find A Grave guidelines favor me since mine was the older memorial but yours had more info along with an additional photo. So it no big deal. She has a memorial in place and that's the important thing.

Perhaps you didn't see that Lula Bell had already been added to the Englewood Cemetery on February 14 2005. Rather than adding additional count to this cemetery, I am sure that David Sifford would have been delighted to transfer the original memorial to you and you could have added all of the wonderful information and pictures to it. Duplicates play rather uncertainly with the cemetery count. Just wanted to let you know that you might have overlooked an original entry. Appreciate your involvement with Find A Grave.

So can my father update Leston as William D Thornton's son as he was Leston's son?
|Ed Thornton||William D Thornton|
I am Ed Thornton. William D was my great grandfather. Leston was my grandfather, he as well as his sister Faye are not listed as children of William D Thornton. How do I go about updating this information? Thank You

Pat..if you want to go to each one and send me a request i will do that as they are not my family....There is one thing i ask though.....that if i send you something to add to the memorial that you will add it to it.....i have transferred to others in the past and they either end up leaving findagrave or they just never add anything i send to them. i send them things to add so that others can get info they need off of the memorials ..At least that way they have the right information which is more than i can say for alot of ancestry.com entries. Anyway like i said if you want to go to the entries that i have and find them and send me a request then i will do it.

Hi, Pat. Can you scan me a copy of the death certificate? I'm looking for Mr. Shinault, but no luck yet. I'm just wondering if I can pick any clues from the DC. Thanks, Jane Long, D & J Long 48041012

You are welcome.

I suspect you can get intouch with Mary to delete her entry for Marshall Janeway Find A Grave no. 44037428. I was just adding the headstone for this cemetery and I been intouch with her.
