My name is Rita June Collvins Mayfield. I was born February 20, 1942 in Jackson County, Oklahoma. I married Vernon Roy Mayfield on April 16, 1971. My primary hobbies are gardening, oil painting, genealogy and of course cemeteries. There is something comforting about strolling through the cemetery and reading the stones. I have recently moved to Cordell, Oklahoma, but have lived in Oklahoma most of my life. Once an Okie, always an Okie. I am slowly trying to get all my family memorialized here. My virtual cemeteries represent my family, unless otherwise noted. I am going to make them public once again, and hope I can leave them without the misuse that occurred previously.|
If I have a memorial that is anyone in your family, and is unrelated to me or my husband, I will be glad to hand it over to you as I don't adhere to the 4 generation only guideline, just contact me. I count it a joy and a job well done if I am able to pass on your loved one to you. It is my number two reason for doing this, second only to wishing to save all the old and battered stones from being lost forever. If you find errors on any of the information on my memorials, please get in touch with me with corrections. You are welcome to use my tombstone photos on your family files and family trees, just note where you got it.
Please don't post death certificates or census reports in the picture area on my memorials. They don't belong there and are detrimental to the looks of the memorial, plus it takes up room where photos could be placed.

Thank you for getting back to me.
Since you have been there, do you know the address of the Cemetery? what road is it on? How can I get in touch with the cemetery or who ever handles it? They seem t be taken care of by somebody. Do you have or have you seen any Oklahoma Cemetery records, what information do they have on them.
I wonder if they have parents names on them, who paid for the burial ect..
I noticed that on the memorials if you click on the cemetery they don't have addresses on them.
Please e-mail me at email@example.com
Thank you for any information.
Banana ana no transfer needed.

Hello Rita Collvins Mayfield
I see you took a photo of the Cheyenne Cemetery wall. Were you allowed to take photos of headstones inside the cemetery?
Thank you for taking the picture

Thanks Rita. One of Wilburn Green Mayfield's children was named Wilburn Olin Mayfield- it just had to be a family name!

We were glad to make the transfer and you have certainly improved the memorial.
We have had a cold winter but been fortunate to have been on the edge of most weather events so have not had to deal with a lot of snow and ice. I am ready for spring so we can get out into the cemeteries.

Would you transfer Ervin Dover to me as well? Mamaw (his daughter) is going to give me a biography to add to his memorial. She was 6 when he died.

Thanks for your info. I have found where several people have the same names before. Will continue my search.
