Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my family history since 1973. Find A Grave is a great resource. Surnames important to me: Harp, Hoagey, Swavely, Krause, Sheafer, Kline, Keeney, Irvin. Most of our family was in Pennsylvania.

Oakland Cemetery has over 15,000 known interments. The Bureau County Genealogical Society has maps and caretaker records for this cemetery. The BCGS has very good information on all the cemeteries in the county.

I enjoy the search and challenge of finding the graves. Photo requests get my highest priority. When I go out to fulfill a photo request, I photograph all the markers in the family plot. The rules I follow; "Photograph the grave/gravesite "in-situ", or as it appears in that moment in time. The purpose is to show the grave as it is, be it dirty, cluttered, broken, or pristine. It is not your job to clean it, clear it, fix it, or decorate it. The graves are not yours to do as you please. Remember, one person's "good deed" just might be another person's vandalism. Go take lots of photos...but do it like an anthropologist and do not disturb the grave site. -AJ" Mar. 10, 2013

When time permits, if a memorial does not exist I create one. I also search for some records to tie the people together and add a bio. I have a backlog of photos to create memorials. Each trip involves multiple cememteries and normally 300 to 500 photos.

If you would like to use my photos, please ask. I have recently experienced some issues with my photos being used inappropriately. I want to share, but I want to know who, what, where, how? the photos will be used. Transfers and edits, please use the EDIT tab.

RE: Carrie Gudgell Sprague photos
The other one is under the name Catherine Gudgell Sprague #94983396. It is the same person. She was married to Frank W. Sprague. Thanks again.

Carrie Gudgell Sprague photos
Thank you for adding these two photos, but I now realize that my listing is a duplicate of #113244685 for Catherine Gudgell Sprague. Would you please move your photos to the other listing and let me know that you have done so, so that I can go back and delete my listing? I do hate to disrespect someone else's listing by making a duplicate..Thanks

Wow - Surprised to see this headstone photo taken in January ... I figured it would be covered in snow until Spring!Thank you so much .... and do you happen to recall what the small slab in front of Emma's husband's(Raymond) stone says? I have enlarged but can't make it out - don't worry about it if you don't recall tho ... I am just happy to see all 3 headstones of my Aunt and family!

Thanks again, Sharon

RE: ref: Mary D. Vanlaw
If you look very closely at the stone it could easily be 1857. She was born in 1826. Both Joseph's and Mary's parents were originally from NJ but moved to Belmont Co. Ohio. Her parents were Nathaniel and Rachel. She had 2 sons born in the 1840's. And the infant daughter buried with her. I don't want to copy the entire obit here but search for Belmont chronicle deaths 1857 and you will find the obit.

I have requested date changes twice and you declined them. May I ask why? I think the marker is misread. The dod should be 1857 not 1837. Entries on rootsweb and ancestry both show this. also, there is an obit for Mary in the Belmont OH Chronicle from April 30, 1857 which says she died March 27, 1857 in Arlington, IL. She also had 2 small boys born in the 1840's so she couldn't have possible died in 1837. Thank-you.

Do you have a headstone for a Gunnardson that passed away Jan 1892? The obit only states Mrs. Oscar Gunnardson. The obit is the only mention of anyone named Gunnardson in the Tribune. Absolutely nothing on Ancestry with that last name living in Bureau county. Thanks, Robyn
