Social Life is the aggregate of all the individual men's Lives who constitute society; History is the essence of innumerable Biographies.
- An oft-quoted "admission" by Thomas Carlyle in his 1830 essay On History
Dear Folks,
Originally, the Christian names, maiden names, surnames and dates which appear as titles for these Find A Grave cyber-memorials, and by which these entries are indexed, were as they appear on the stones and, in some instances, on undertaker markers (because, ordinarily, inscriptions are primary evidence for the individuals memorialized in these cemeteries, at least when placed by contemporaries).
Over time, I've begun to enter the transcriptions, so that now, many memorials include maiden names and full names (and additional dates and places) where they can be added with a high degree of confidence. The "Bio" sections may include genealogical deductions which are based on a number of documents, including both primary evidence and secondary sources.
The on-line availability of Georgia death certificates from 1919-1930 allows us to add memorials for burials for which no stone or marker was found in a cemetery (more than a hundred such entries), and allows us to supplement the information for burials which do have extant stones or undertaker markers.
Inevitably, mistakes occur; I very much appreciate your leaving me a message when you notice misreadings, misidentifications, or other errors in the memorials, including misdirections for the embedded links. I will do my best to make corrections promptly and, when practicable, to verify the information.
May God Bless Each of You and Your Families †
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Philippians 4:4-9 KJV

 | reg/ Candassa Herrington Maner Hello. I am researching the Maner family of Screven County. I am curious about where you found the name of Candassa Maner's husband, which is posted on her memorial page. I have been looking without success for a marriage license for her or other verifiable information. Any further info you have would be appreciated.
Thank you. Ann Maner | | | Brandi Hollis

 | Photo of Dr. Mims Sir:
I have written the lady who put Doc Mims' photo on your findagrave.com site WITHOUT MY PERMISSION requesting she remove the photo she took from my sister, Linda Faye Celoria Sabis, since the original portrait of the Doc is owned by me. She has not responded.
I request that you remove said photo. At a later date, I will provide you with a better photo of the Doc to put on your findagrave.com listing.
Any questions, call. Thanks.
