Thank you for posting the entire gravemarker for John and Eliza Gentry Clark. I am researching my mother's family tree and this new picture is great. Thank you again so much. Carol
Thanks for adding the requested link.

The Harris photo is excellent. Thank you.

I am wondering if there are plans to fence the cemetery. There is a small fund that was collected in the past for the purpose of putting a fence around the cemetery. If someone will contact me we can discuss it further.

|Marie ||Jeffery Cemetery Stone County|
I found this web page on the Jeffery cemetery just today and I am hoping that you can help me.
First, How up to date are the pictures of the cemetery? It has been about a year or two since I was there and it was very unattended and the stones were lying on the ground what wasn't covered with soil from river flooding and cattle knocking them down over the years.
My cousin and I have been for some time trying to accumulate enough money put a fence around it in case the cattle are put back in that field.
We both are up in our years and we do not live in the area either so it is a challenge for us. We both are decendants of Miles Jeffery.
Please let me know if these pictures are up to date. Hopefully they are and someoneis sharing our interest and cleaned it up and dug out the stones and reset them.

I have a question about the "Old Whitehouse Cemetery" where you have found Avarilla's grave. Is hers the only grave (marked or not) in the cemetery? Is it a family cemetery located on someone's farm rather than being an actual cemetery? The cemetery does not appear to have been listed in Izard County cemetery books (unless it has another name).
Avarilla was the eldest daughter of John Jeffery, II & his wife, Malinda Benbrook Jeffery. Malinda Benbrook (1810-1849) was the sister of my gg grandfather, Henry Benbrook. We know where most of the Benbrooks are buried, but we have looked for years for Malinda Benbrook Jeffery's grave -- she does not appear to have been buried in the Jeffery cemeteries at Mt. Olive (or if she was, there is no evidence of it). Anyway, we had thought that Avarilla was probably buried (without an existing marker) at Spring Creek where her husband was buried many years after her death; but now that you have found her elsewhere, we are wondering if perhaps Avarilla was buried at Old Whitehouse Cemetery because her parents were buried there.
Thank you again for all of the wonderful work that you do! It is appreciated.
