Sherry, feel free to use the photo. I am only slightly related to Minerva C. Pounds but it is a relationship I am very proud of and researching it was really great plus I had a lot of help coming my way. Here is my lineage to Minerva.
Mary Alice Hendricks, my great grand aunt married William Benjamin Green who was the son of Francis Marion Green and Felicia Asenith Kellar. As you know Felicia was the daughter of William M. Kellar and Minerva C. Pounds. Hope that made sense. If you would like, I can send you a larger photo than the one on findagrave.
|Davine Roberts||Abneys and Hicks|
I would like to compare notes with you on your Hicks connection. I have the Abney info way back for many generations, and I started the Society of Descendants of Lady Godiva http://societyofdescendantsofladygodiva.weebly.com/ about two years ago based on Dannett Abney being a "Gateway Ancestor" and connecting to many royal lines in England going back many centuries. If you want or need any more info on any of these lines, please contact me at DavineR@aol.com.
I noticed you have a Hicks line, and I do, also. My Hicks line is back to NC and to VA in the 1600s and 1700s. I would like to compare notes with you, if your Hicks line connects with the VA Hicks.

We may share a common interest in some of your families, Bonds in particular. I would appreciate hearing from you.

Archabeld Marlin would be one of our connections if we could his parents.
Logan County Records 1778
The indians, numbering 10,000 within a 200 mile radius of Nashborough,
continued firing upon the settlers causing numerous deaths and burning
their homesteads which made life very precarious on the Cumberland
frontier. A year after signing of the Comberland Compact, only about
one-forth of settlers remained. More than fifty had been killed and with
their crops destroyed, their cattle killed and their food and gunpowder
nearly depleted, the rest left for safer quarters in Kentucky.The following
court record in Logan Co. Ky., dated January 15, 1782,

Do you know if her last name is correct? I have a ancestor Archibald Marlin who married Martha Ferrier I am searching for his parents. He came here to Tennessee in 1778 with William McWhirter 1720-1802.
|Patty Reece||RE: Darrow Tree|
My grandmother was born Bettie adelia brown. She changed her name to Elizabeth when she got married. She was the daughter of Ruth Darrow and harold brown. I posted a picture of them on find a grave if you haven't seen it. My grandma lived with us until she passed away. Are you on ancestry. I just did the DNA test.
|Patty Reece||Darrow Tree|
