Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching the history and genealogy of anyone with the Jonas surname for over 30 years. I have also transcribed several cemeteries in Wythe County and Smyth County, Virginia. At this time I am working on the cemeteries of Morrisville, Wake County, North Carolina. Am also working on building a data base for anyone living in the Moravian towns of Bethabara, Bethania, Hope, Friedberg, Friedland, and Salem from 1753 through the 1800s.

Jonas Family
Hi - reading about your relationship to the Jonas family. Daniel Jonas is my 2nd Great Grandfather. My Grandfather was Alfred Luther Jonas. His daughter Lula Bell Jonas was my Grandmother. My mother was Mary Agnes White (father of William Elias White and Lula Bell) and she grew up in York SC. Thanks for posting the pics of Daniel's headstone.

Can you please have another look at his year of birth? It looks like 1840 to me. If David and Hannah are indeed his parents the 1810 just doesn't work. Thanks!

Birthplace f Johann Beroth
Hi,

There is information in York County, Pennsylvania, 1758-1800:First Moravian Church that indicates Johann Beroth may have been born in Pennsylvania.

Can you let me know your source for his birth in Germany?

Thanks,

Kathy

RE: Rev. Henry H. Lowry
Unfortunately, I have not been successful in getting his photo. The people that I thought might have access to one do not.

Good Luck with your search,

melanie

Oops, forgot...
The name variations can be added to the bio field area and will be searchable with search engines such as Google. So if there are name variations they can be added there and still be found by researchers, etc.
