I like find-a-grave because it is a great source to obtain information about relatives and ancestors in order to expand my family tree. I sometimes feel that I know some of these folks although most died before I was even born. It also allows me to uncover things that does not exactly bring "honor to the family name". But whatever happened, they are still my family. As they say, "it is what it is".|

I was looking up the Hudson Plantation in South Carolina, trying to find a pic for our family tree. Mom said they tore that plantation down years ago and it's now a subdivision. Still would like to find pics though and have come up blank so far, but did find one in GA. There was a link there for the headstone for Thomas P Hudson and that he is your 3rd great grand-uncle??. I'm in the middle of updating our family tree on ancestry.com and Hudson is my mom's maiden name from the Hudson's in SC. I'm trying to put the link together and have missed something somewhere. Can you help?
going backwards, starting w/ My grandpa (mom's dad)I have the following:
Marvin Clayton Hudson wife, Evelyn N Castleberry
Vardry Hart Hudson wife, Lessie May Smith
Rev. Thomas E Hudson wife, Martha Ann Duncan (looking for indian heritage re Martha as a cousin of my moms has a pic of her in full indian dress. Said she was from the Cherokee deer tribe)
Woodward Hudson wife, Effarilla (Effie)R Smith
Burrell Vardry Hudson wife, Sarah Mahaffey
Abraham Hudson wife, Elizabeth Tyler
Henry Hudson wife, Mary Russell
Robert Hudson wife, Mary Farguson
Richard Hudson II wife, Mary Bowman
Richard Hudson wife, Mary Hayes
William Hudson II wife, Alice Turner
Henry Hudson wife, ?
Gentleman Henry Hudson I, Alderman of London, Lord of Manors wife, Barbara Watson

If you or anyone else has any information on the Hudson line that I can link, or pics, that would be great!!
|Joshua Reynolds||John W. Reynolds|
Are you an Adams descendant of Mary Esther Adams? My research combined with your updates to the John W. Reynolds grave marker hint that we are distant cousins if you are.
I am a direct descendant of John W. Reynolds through Archelaus W. Reynolds and Sarah/Sallie Miller Reynolds. Seeing that you matched his grave to his obituary, I would love to know what you know about the Reynolds family in Hall County, GA.
I know I am descended from Archelaus W. Reynolds, as mentioned in the John W obituary, but I don't know too much for certain about him. DNA testing by the Reynolds DNA project of some Adams family members indicate they share the same paternal lineage as those descended from David Reynolds, who I believe is the father of Archelaus. If what the census records and obituaries imply about his relationship with Mary Esther Adams is true, then that is strong evidence for my lineage.
Please let me know if you have more information on Archelaus or even his brother Bartemus in Hall County. I really want to understand what happened to our family between Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Thanks for being considerate enough to ask about using the photo before using it. Please feel free to use it. Although I took the photo and have copyright, I do not exercise it as long as you do not receive payment for its use.
Glad I could help you out with your photo request.
Have a great day!

|Betty Ross Brown||Wiley W ROSS|
In the bio about Wiley W ROSS, it only mentions his eldest son going to war with him; his second son, William Morgan ROSS also went into Co F, 16th SC Volunteers with them.
Wiley went in at the beginning and was voted either 2d or 3d Lt.(depends where you look). He was dropped a short time later due to his age; he re-entered as a Private just before the unit went west.
My father was named Willie after Wiley W (the W stands for William); he was named William Wiley ROSS, but was called Wiley. His son, William Morgan ROSS was my Great-Grandfather and my Grandfather Jepthea Walker ROSS named his eldest son Morgan Leo ROSS for his father. Jepthea's brother, Guy Rivers ROSS named his first born son William Morgan ROSS after his father. The son of this William Morgan was also named William Morgan ROSS. This William Morgan ROSS (III) graduated from the US Naval Academy (Annapolis) in 1960; he was in the 10th Co.
He went by William Morgan ROSS, Jr instead of (III). He retired as a Commander in the US Navy. He is still living; I finally found him a few weeks ago and have been getting some family info from him for a book I am writing on our ROSS family line.
