Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Northern Indiana and am very interested in the Civil War. One of my hobbies is to visit the graves of Indiana Civil War Soldiers. To date, my dad and I have visited over 1,930 cemeteries and have found the gravesites of over 36,900 Indiana Soldiers, as well as some 9,000 soldiers from states other than Indiana. We have also located the gravesites of over 1,700 Confederate soldiers buried in the Hoosier state. I am also trying to find the grave sites of all of Indiana's Civil War Colonels. I am also interested in the 8th Indiana Infantry, Company I, and the 12th Indiana Infantry. I am also looking for every Chaplain that served in an Indiana Regiment in the Civil War. If you know of any gravesites you think I may have missed, or have some interesting information, don't hesitate to contact me. I am also working on a book about Indiana's soldiers that died during the Civil War. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you are looking for a Hoosier that served in the civil war send me an e-mail and I'll see if I can help in any way. Currently, I'm also trying to locate every Civil War veteran in Kosciusko County, Indiana, and upload them to Find-A-Grave. I am also a Christian, and look forward to life after the grave. Thanks.

RE: Fulton Co.Henry B. Scott Civil War Veteran
I have a list of the ones buried in Indiana that we don't have grave stone photo's for. It might be good if we compared lists, and see who has what. On the Vermont site we are including ones that were born here, served here, etc. We have burials in every state except Alaska, and a few in foreign countries. If I have luck with copy & paste I'll send you my list. If I have a problem, I'll ask Tom to do it.

Thank you so much Eric for sharing the photo. I have see a couple others from this area, that ended up out there. May I use those too?

I send the photo's I receive on to the webmaster of the site. (, and he, Tom Ledoux, posts them. He will be posting the one of Henry Scott, probably today, and I have asked him to send you a link. You may enjoy browsing the site. Every soldier that he knows of that has any connection to Vermont is listed. All have their birth/death listed, and military service. A lot of them have photo's, obituaries, and bio's. Some even have letters that were written home during the war. There is also history on regiments, battles, prison experiences etc,and much more. ( about 50,000 pages) I could never list all the contents.

May I use the monument photo that you contributed to Henry Scott's memorial page, to be posted on the Vermont Civil War site? (

You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

That is what is on the Discharge papers for my husbndsGreat Great GrandfatherAbraham Freeman. Ifooundd your find-a-grave site and realizedd there is no memorial to his service associated with his grave. Is there some sort of stake with a plaque that can be obtained to designate their
civil war service/?

He is buried in the Acme, Indiana cemetery.I have his discharge paperwhere he enrolled Oct 1961 and dischargged May 1862. and anotherform wherehe changed from Co C Ind Calvary(enrolled Dec 20 , 1863 and dicharged Sept 1865. So he did double duty?

AAn y info you have on getting something tomark his grave would be appreciated. Hoping to hear from you. Debbie Shake
