McCartney
Good Morning. I have found a wonderful, well kept photo of an older gentleman, that must be a McCartney, though there is no information on the back. It was enclosed with a badly worn photo (of Myrtle Belle, which I added to her memorial). His eyes and facial features are very distinctive.
I'd appreciate a private way to share this with you, if you wouldn't mind. Please contact me by email. Thank you.

While some people find this comforting, I don't. I stumbled upon this site after a friend sent me a message about how her daughter's grave ended up on this site. So I decided to check. Imagine my surprise not only to find my son listed, but also a picture of his resting place. I feel this is quite intrusive.

The Buskirk Boys
Hi, Dave!

The new memorial looks nice. This should really help John Everett's family with their research. As both the daughter & mother of US veterans, I'm glad to see that now the right John Buskirk is recognized for his service to our country. Thank you, again, for all that you've done in taking pictures of loved ones in parts of the country that not all of us can easily get to. Take care, Linda :)

John Holtz Buskirk vs. John E. Buskirk
Hi, Dave!

I think that I figured it out. The John Buskirk that you have in Indiana is NOT John Holtz Buskirk.

You found John E. Buskirk, husband of Wanda Curtis Buskirk, who was a US veteran born in Sept 1924, and died Nov 1999 in Delaware County, Indiana. I found his death certificate. His parents are listed as John E. Buskirk & Edith Griesheimer. He was born in Ohio, but in Chillicothe.

John Holtz Buskirk was born March 1914, and died Dec 1999 in Seneca County, Ohio. There are no VA records for him. You know his parents names.

If you look at the picture on Find-a-Grave, it clearly says John E. Buskirk, and that he was in the Air Force.

now... where is John Holtz Buskirk buried is the 64,000 question...?

I think that John E.'s info has to be altered as does John Holtz's.

Someone told me that a genealogist's work is never done...

Take care, Linda :)

RE: John Holtz Buskirk
Thanks, Dave!

This helps a lot. I'll see if I can find that obit somehow, and see if the other Van Buskirk names ring a bell.

Thanks, again. Take care, Linda :)

John Holtz Buskirk
Hi!

I was just curious what you can tell me about John ending up being buried in Indiana.

Most of our family is from Seneca Cty, Ohio. John lived a high part of his life there & even passed on at a nursing home there. So Indiana seems like "left field", so to speak. I don't know where Rebecca settle. She's the only child, I think.

As far as I know, he & Alice stayed married, so...

anyway... a family member brought this to my attention, so I figured that I'd ask on her behalf. The Buskirk's/Van Buskirk's married into my Pittenger line. John is more of a connection for her, but now I'm so curious.

I do know that he got his Soc Sec card in Calif.

Thank you so much for any guidance that you can give. Also, thank you for taking a picture of his grave marker & sharing it. Linda E. Asaro of NJ
