|My love of genealogy began with my parents who did a great amount of research on each of their families. This was before they died in the 1970's. I didn't want their research to be lost or forgotten. So I began to do further research adding information to their records, and most of all to share all of the research with extended family. I love the challenge of finding records of proof for each date given. |
You have my permission to use the gravestone pictures I have submitted to Find A Grave for your genealogy records, along with a notation giving me credit for them.
Please do not print out a biography I have written on any Memorial page and add that biography to ancestry or any place else. Content submitted on Find A Grave is copyrighted.
As I work on my family's genealogy I have added names of family and where they are buried so I can share that information with extended family members, and the burial locations will not be lost. As I continue to find information I sometimes change a biography and its contents to reflect what I have found.
Find A Grave is a wonderful place to help us with our genealogies. The dedicated members who take time to record hundreds of burials that are in a cemetery, take photographs of their graves and post that information so we can find them, is a wonderful help to all of us. They are truly dedicated members. As are the ones who volunteer to answer people's requests for photographs. For generations to come this information will be preserved.

I believe William Lloyd Cone Jr is also buried at SH. Why don't you ask for his location too? I'll be more than glad to get both of them with a location.

I went over to Sparkman Hillcrest (SH) to the Garden of Devotion and walked Block 24 both Lots 14 and 12 and could not find his marker.
Please call SH and request the location. Their phone number is 214-363-5401. SH will not provide burial locations to volunteers, citing privacy issues. Your cooperation is needed to in order for requests to be filled. Once you have the location, please add it to your request. Thank you for your help.

There is already a picture of her marker on her memorial page.
Please call me when you get a chance. I have sent you a private email to make sure you have my phone number. It's reference Susanna Lord! Important!

Carolyn, the grave may have had a cap or cover at one time. There is a cement outline around the gravesite. Plus a cement/concrete outline around the whole plot. Amanda's is the only grave in the plot according to the City's survey. Brenda

The links for his parents have been added. Really, I should have thought of that, myself, but my scattered thoughts were on something else.
Best to you,

It's nice to hear that someone benefited from our photo expeditions. I have used so much info at Find A Grave added by others. My goal is to add a memorial for each one I've used.
Little by little I'm trying to visually record Oak Ridge Cemetery. My husband's parents are buried there. The majority of the stones need some kind of clean up before taking a photo; usually grass trimming and brushing off the sandy soil that covers many of the flat-to-the-ground markers. I can't spend a lot of time on my feet these days and there are many trees so one is restricted to snapping pix at certain times of day.
I know some people disapprove of shaving cream but that was the only way you could have read John & Wilhemena's stone. I think that we are preserving the info before it is lost forever. We take a water sprayer with us and wash off the stone immediately after we snap the picture, so I don't think it does any harm.
There is a Jack Krauser memorial in the same cemetery for which I also added a photo. Is he connected to your John?

I have transferred this Memorial to you as requested. I would enjoy reading her story, so let me know when you add it, if that is okay with you! Have a wonderful blessed day!

You're welcome. Looking forward to reading about him! :)

The memorial is made and transferred. I make the memorials from photos I take, but they serve so much more if I give them to family who can turn them into more than just dates & a headstone. You hold photos of him and his story. He's better off in your hands. :)
