Bio and Links
Bio Photo I recently read on another bio, "our ancestors can't tell us where they are buried, we have to find them." So true. I'm so thankful to all the volunteers that have registered the graves in their areas. My personal goal is to help register graves in my area that will hopefully help others locate the final resting places of their loved ones.

Please remember that while FindAGrave is a great tool to use in genealogy research, the clear mission of FindAGrave is to register the graves. If you are new to FindAGrave, please click on the "Help with FindAGrave" menu selection and read the FAQ before starting.

Yellow daffodils I've placed on a memorial usually signifies a connection to me in some way.

I'm happy to transfer memorials within the FindAGrave guidelines found in the FAQ (and I'm somewhat flexible on that). To request a transfer, click the "Edit" tab on the top right of the memorial and then "Suggest a Correction" tab to send me a note requesting the transfer, indicate HOW you are related, and don't forget to provide your Member ID. I'll consider all requests, but you might want to consider building a Virtual Cemetery (see FAQ).

I'm also more than happy to provide links where the final disposition is known or add additional information. Again, click the "Edit" tab and "suggest a correction" to send this information.

A word about photos I've placed on memorials. I'll gladly give you permission to use my photos if you ask me, indicate that I have granted you permission, and provide a link to their FindAGrave memorial. I have found several of my photos posted in family trees on the web without my permission and without a source to FindAGrave. This is a copyright violation and poor research sourcing. Again, please just do the right thing and ask if you'd like to use anything I have posted on any of the FindAGrave memorials.

To all the volunteers that walk through long forgotten, overgrown, tick and snake infested cemeteries, taking photos of all gravestones (even broken or half buried ones), and create memorials, thank you. Those gravestones may disappear or become completely unreadable in the future. For your efforts in registering the graves, thank you for all you do.

Happy hunting!

Mitchell headstones
I want to thank you for taking time out of your life to take pictures of headstones and posting them here. I return here from time to time and I have added NEW photos to my Mitchell tree line.

Most of my tree line deceased in Arkansas and I live out in California.

Thank you again. I will return again to see if you have posted any more from the Mitchell family.

American Orlena Miller
Thank you so much for the posting for my great grandmother, American AOrlena Magness Miller who died when I was 7 years old from "stomach cancer".
Our entire family spent the last two days of her life with her (she died at home). At the cemetery we gathered again and spent the rest of the day saying goodbye to a beloved woman - it was a tradition for our family to spend the day of the burial like this and to take along a picnic lunch. My great grandfather is buried alongside her though he died some time later in California as a result of being hit by a train as it was his custom to walk the railroad tracks and being deaf, he didn't hear the train. Their daughter, Nora is buried in the same cemetery.
Thanks again for your dedication to this work,
Jacqueline Holmstrom

Permission to use photo of;
Oma C Morehead's headstone. You took the photo in January 2013. She is a cousin, and I would appreciate using the photo in my family tree.

Please let me know.

RE: Memorial 123798175
With the dates being the same, I feel that the smaller marker was later replaced by the larger one (maybe by the children?), but the older one (erected by the husband?) was left in place. ?? Sure wish we knew all the stories. Hopefully someone will come forward with the true explanation.

Thank you for your hard work. The pictures you took and shared are all excellent.

Memorial 104911624 James Sisemore
Wondering if you can provide some additional information on this person.

I am looking for a James Sisemore born Abt. 1861, parents are John & Sarah (Neal) Sisemore. He was one of 15 children.

Also, you have a spouse listed, but in the photos on the memorial there is a Bethena listed. Is this an additional spouse, or is she not a spouse?

Thank you,

P.S. James is a 2nd cousin in my line.
