Yep...been there a couple of times cuz Dewayne Lawrence and I are who brought Indiana's stone from Mt. Olive to the McMurtry Cem. I also told Elvada what she needed to do to get a Confederate marker for Ambrose Jeffery from the gov't.

I have seen the map....that is where I found the names of who was supposed to be there.

Are you going to the reunion in July? I am thinking abt it as Lisa personally invited me (we fuss a lot so I was touched that she did it).

Cora McMNurtry
I saw you had messaged me but my lousy coomputer burped and it's gone to never-never land.

Calvin and Joicey Manerva also had three older children, Milton, Olivia, Effie and our Cora.

he linking I asked you to do is to connect Cora to her parents' memorials so they will show her as their child. I am in contact with a family member and she has verified these "facts" as being correct.

Going to bed...

Husband & I got up to Optimus yesterday and it looks absolutely beautiful. So well maintained, a lot of work, and then you have made all these great memorials. I will be posting some pix on some recent ones, hopefully found a few others. In a few cases we may have gotten a pic we think is 'clearer' - so if I put up one and you don't feel it needs to be on memorial along w/original, pls let me know and I will remove. Love FindaGrave & love this spring weather.

RE: Jeremiah McCluskey
The reference that Linda posted is the earliest that I have been able to find. I call him Jeremiah 1. He died in Laurens, SC in 1788. Jeremiah 2 was also born in Virginia. 1775. He is the one buried in Green Hill, AL. If you can get on the 1800 census for
Jeremiah 2, it is very useful. Charles married Ann Ross and moved to Green Hill and is buried there. Isaac married there and moved to AR and MO. I have not been able to find where he is buried. You might have that. Charles only had one child that survived to adulthood. That is Charles Jeremiah David McCluskey, my relative, called Jerrie (Jerry). He married and moved to Davis, OK (Indian Territory) around 1894. He had 10 children, one of those my great grandmother.
Have you been able to collect info on Isaac's children?

Jeremiah McCluskey
Sue- I also am searching for information about this relative.
I suspect your relative is Isaac McC. Mine is Charles, his brother. Both children of Jeremiah and Betsy-
Since Jeremiah was born in VA and also his father Jeremiah,
I am searching there. Also, I plan to go to Laurens Co., SC in March to try to find 1740 Jeremiah's grave. Any information you have would be appreciated. I think Jeremiah 1775 is the one who fought in the War of 1812 in Va. I think you had already found this. He was married and living in SC in 1800 census. Sally

RE: Jeremiah McCluskey
Thanks, I'd love to have a copy. There was a researcher that I corresponded with several years back; but after her death, I don't think I've been asked about the McCluskeys. I'm Linda Mayfield on fb if you would like to reach me there. I'm in SC now, so a long trip back to AL. Oh, Jeremiah's monument reads "McCL J. M., Nov 1831" per Cemeteries of East Lauderdale County, AL. I've been to that cemetery searching for a Clemmons ancestor, but I didn't take a picture of Jeremiah's gravestone. Linda

Sue, Do live near Florence? I used to be fairly close, but I've moved much further away. We need info from someone in AL with records to verify Jeremiah. I found this online some time ago -

Sue, I've been trying to verify that "our" Jeremiah M. McCluskey is the same person that served in the 111 Reg't Parker's Virginia Militia. There were children born, supposedly in South Carolina, between 1803 and 1815. I guess it is possible that he headed to Virginia for service in 1812, but I don't know that I could prove it. What do you think? Linda
