Bio and Links
Bio Photo We work as a team: Russian-Danish family living in London. After a few years in the Middle East, we have now moved to our next adventure in China. County-keepers for England. Being long-term expats, we are very interested in all Russians and Danes who found their last resting place away from their home countries. We will be grateful for any comments, advice and links to memorials. Thanks to this wonderful website we have found many friends all over the world and the amount of mails we receive increase all the time. We appreciate all the mails and ALWAYS reply but sometimes it takes longer than we would like to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We prefer to get your questions and corrections through e-mail (use the EDIT tab in the memorial). Please include your own e-mail in case we need to write back to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DATZI, Adolph (1871 - 1949) and DATZI, Alice Rose (1874 - 1948) Alliance Cemetery Jerusalem
Dear Julia and Keld Thank you very much for taking a photograph and leaving flowers for Adolph and Alice Rose Datzi in the Alliance Cemetery, Jerusalem. I believe Adolph Datzi was born in Romania and worked as a pharmacist at the English Hospital in Jerusalem. His wife, Alice Rose (nee?) was possibly of Circassian descent. My email is The descendants of Alice Rose's Montesole relations would be most grateful to receive any information about her. Romilly

Ivan kalugin
Have found a record of Ivan and Maria Kalugin buried in Stretford Cemetery in plot S1/446.

I will be visiting there soon, so hope to get you a photo if there is a viable headstone. Can also supply a file copy of burial register scans by email if you want them

John Bird Sumner memorial
I believe that the John Bird Sumner memorial # 9951 and John Bird Sumner memorial # 28124754 are the same person, could we fix this oversite. The site show's John Bird Sumner as his own sibling. Thanks, I'm proud to say that John Bird Sumner, archbishop of Canterbury was my 3rd great grandfather.

RE: dupe
I mean that he is buried at the Bouillon Castle in Doubs, not at the Bouillon Castle in Luxembourg. These are two completely different places.

RE: Southee
I have done a great deal of research on the Southee family. My mother is a Southee. Have you read the book called "Ellen" by E. M. Almedingen. There is a lot of information about Ellen's family
and her Russian connections in this book. I'm sure that this book will be a great help to in your research.

RE: Wolff
No, not this time, sorry. Most of my photos are made at close distance. In order to document as many names as possible, I focused on legibility, considering that most stones have mass-produced standard size. I added a number of pictures to "your" names, where it seemed difficult to read the inscriptions from the distance. So it looks like we are completing each other. I hope you will be in Saint Petersburg again soon. My congratulations for your excellent work on all those bios you wrote!
