RE: Poorhouse Cemetery
Bonnie, I used my detailed Fauquier Co. map to get close and then asked some residents where it was at. They directed me to their brother, who lives on the land, who gave me a short history of the Poorhouse land, houses and cemetery, quite interesting. The cemetery is still surrounded by a stone wall but inside is quite "wild" as it is not maintained. There are not as many field stones as there used to be and many trees are down.
Hope this helps.

RE: hello
Yes Bonnie I am. But I have been having trouble finding the father of my Great grandfather. He is James Edward Utterback and according to what I have found so far his father is listed several times as Alfred Utterback of Marshall fauquier. Alfred did not get married though until he was 28. so I keep thinking that he must of had him out of wedlock. Can't find proof of that though.

Pleasant Hills Cemetery - Darnestown, MD

I live in Darnestown, MD. This morning I received three photo requests for people buried at Pleasant Hills Cemetery. According to this site, that cemetery is defunct, and the tombstones were buried in 1951.

I have seen that you have several relatives in some way connected to that cemetery and I'm wondering if you can shed any light for me.

This site is about 1 mile from my house. I drive by it daily. According to the GPS coordinates, it is located where three back yards now come together. Adding to the mystery, it appears that part of it has been paved over and has utility vehicles parked on it (like delivery trucks).

If I knew there was anything to see, I would ask the property owners for permission to walk back there. But if the satellite is correct, there is no trace whatsoever. If that's the case, then no photos would be possible.

Do you know for sure what is going on there?

Curt L.
