RE: Marthena and Parthena Goode
I don't recall if I replied to this or not. Thanks for posting the photos. I don't remember ever checking it out, but we were moving for so long, and still haven't finished decorating like I want. I think I just plain forgot about it. My memory isn't what it was before the move. I think my brain got so tired that it couldn't keep it up. It went to sleep and is still snoozing. Lol!
I'm going to go check out those photos.

RE: Photo of Nervie Sampson's headstone
It was my pleasure. Honestly, I feel embarrassed about the photo I took for you. It did not come out as well as I hoped and plan to return this week to retake the photo for you

The Ancestor Hunter
Enoch Morgan marker
Thanks for your message.

My many memorials for the Welsh Tract Baptist Cemetery, (where I have many ancestral relatives buried including the Rev, are from a 1904 cemetery census.

My overall posting were based on the 1904 census and my own censuses & photos of closer relatives taken in 2000-2001. In about 2008 Tedd Cocker, who I know, visited area cemeteries. He updated things. A couple of markers missed in 1904 were found and sadly many others were not. Also some of his photos were better than the ones I had earlier taken as he lives in the area and made multiple visits to Newark. I live out West.

FYI, I have amended Enoch's memorial posting about the marker to now show:

In 1904 during a cemetery census of this cemetery was taken. It found the Rev'd's tombstone and the inscription was noted. A little over 100 years later when a photo census of the cemetery was taken the marker no longer was found.

In 1904 his marker read:

In memory of Rev. Enoch Morgan, late minister of the gospel at the Welsh Tract M. Morgan Rhyddarch, ministre D omeneinne since in South Wales and B. of Mr. Abel Morgan Jun. pastor of Philadephia OBYT Mch. 25 1740. His last text was John 17. He kept the faith and run his race.

RE: Transfer
Hi Gayle,

I found the picture on Ancestry.com. It said the person on the left was her but if you're not sure you may want to delete the one I posted and replace it with the one you have.

RE: Marthena and Parthena Goode
Can you give me some info on Parthenia? I opened a memorial page for her but I don't have any info that is reliable. Send me what you have and I'll adjust her Find A Grave memorial page (and my Ancestry info) to what you have.
Thanks!

RE: Marthena and Parthena Goode
Do you have the info on where Parthena was buried, other than Clay county, Alabama? I will make an Ancestry page for her, if you'd like. If you have any info on her that isn't already on Ancestry, let me know.
Thanks,
Sharon (Penny) Henry (my mother was a Newsome)

I am giving the names you sent me to my sister-in-law. She will pass them on to a cousin who is doing the family genealogy.
