Our Family Mesquite Tree has grown deep roots in Ward County Texas where my Great Grandfather journeyed in a covered wagon from Georgia in the 1890's.
My siblings and I are the 5th Generation of these West Texas Pioneers. We were raised where our great grandfather, grandfather and father put down roots. Our Family Geneaology Study and Documentation began with my Aunt Irene who spent countless hours researching Historical Societies from Georgia to Texas.
My primary search and focus includes these family Patriarch/Matriarch names: George Washington Pittman/Emma J. Howell (Father's Paternal Grandfather Family) Elisha Smith Marley/Mary Josephine Leatherwood (Father's Maternal Grandmother Family) Steven Bennett Carroll/Martha Jane Marley (Father's Paternal Grandfather Family)
The Family Mesquite Tree has been the source for stories from Covered Wagon Journeys to Bronc Bustin'. These passed down stories are the basis for my Genealogy Website...Tracks of My Texas Ancestors. (see Website link)
The Pittman/Carroll/Marley/Leatherwood Family Tree is registered on Ancestor.com. I welcome inquiries and information on the above mentioned family names. I am fortunate to have a collection of Family Photographs from the 1890's to the early 1900's.
