| Bio and Links | NOTE: ◊Find A Grave's primary purpose is a grave registration website.
The owner of Find A Grave has stressed that this is a grave registration site, not a genealogy site.
If you wonder why I stick so closely to Find A Grave guidelines, please note that many of us not only receive many requests every day but many of them are not very nice... so, I only transfer within the guidelines.
Having someone in your "family tree" is not grounds for a transfer. AND, having additional information which you wish to add but are not willing to ask for the addition to be made is not really grounds for a transfer. Holding a memorial "hostage" is a weird concept to me. Why not let the manager of the memorial add the information.
When a suggestion is sent, I do additional research on that person and attempt to update the memorial as much as possible. In eleven years, there is much out there to learn that was not available when some of my memorials were originally made.
I do welcome additions or corrections for any information I receive for memorials. I only ask that you please use the edit feature on the memorial you are talking about. This feature allows a direct link. I do not respond to requests sent directly to my email account as they normally do not contain the correct information needed in order to make the requested corrections. Thanks.
Please, please, please DO NOT ADD COPIES OF DEATH CERTIFICATES to my memorials. Just think how you would feel if your death certificate was made public. I do add information obtained from death certificates to memorials, just not the death certificate itself.
And, please, please, please do not add a duplicate photograph; ie the same headstone photo There is really no need for five photos of the same headstone :)
I do give permission for my photos to be used for personal use; but not for money-making endeavors. Nice if credit is given but not really necessary. However, I would prefer that photos not be altered from their original state. :)
Thank you.
