|Devin Gaither||Private Question|
Your information on this site has really be a great help to me in my research. I had a question for you that I was hoping to ask via e-mail about a mutual relative that would be your cousin, if I've done my math correctly. If you can reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org that'd be great! Thanks so much!
I've been doing a lot of genealogy research and I hit a bump a while back that I never thought I'd be able to get past. My parents are divorced and the records for my dad's birth don't match up because his "father" was away in the service at the time of his conception. My mom always suspected that she knew what the surname of his biological father was... but we were never sure and it isn't something that is acknowledged in his family. I ran across your site, saw that you were researching the surname my mom has always suspected... and what do you know. I found a picture of a man who looks exactly like my father and his birth date and location match up perfectly. Thank you so much for having this information up and available :-)

|Vanda White||PItzer and Brown sisters|
Hi Dorsey H,
I am wondering if you can put me in touch with folks from Arden or Martinsburg who may have information about two sisters who are buried at Green Hill Cemetery in Martinsburg. The Find A Grave webpage shows you as the creator of the page of interest.
I was born and raised on Winchester Avenue in Martinsburg and Iíll be selling the home place soon. I want to take photos of the house before it is sold and research its history for my family.
As children, we heard of the sisters, Nannie Brown and Sadie Brown Pitzer, who used to live in our home, but I never knew more than that one of them took her own life there. I cannot locate a Berkeley County death certificate for Nannie V. Brown, but her tombstone at Green Hill clearly states that she died on November 14, 1918. I know that this was during the peak of the influenza epidemic, so perhaps her records were neglected? Your entry on the Find A Grave webpage says, ďdespondent because of increasing infirmities due to ill-health and depressed by loneliness, Nannie took her own life.Ē
Nannieís sister, Sadie (Sarah) C. Pitzer, died in 1941 in the Weston State Hospital, although there is some discrepancy about when she was admitted, because city directories show her still living on Winchester Avenue in 1917.
Your entries on Find A Grave are the only information I have found about these sisters. I live out of town so itís difficult to research the primary record sources. I am wondering if you could put me in touch with your source of information, so I could learn more about the history of our home. I know itís an unusual request, but when you are a genealogy and history lover, as I am, you want to learn more. You may email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many many thanks,
|Courtney Jones||(K)Catherine Cushwa Catrow Miller #83878636|
Hi! I noticed that my SAC to change her name from "(K)Catherine" to "Katherine" (as spelled in her obituary) was declined.
Please realize that there is a reason the memorial naming conventions (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=listFaqs#147) indicate no punctuation (other than a period) should be used in the name fields. As her memorial is currently, she is not able to be found doing a site search, nor can she be found searching her first name in the cemetery itself.
Searching with a first name of "Katherine" won't show up her memorial, neither will a search for "Catherine" and because of the parenthesis, searching for "(K)Catherine" will come up blank as well.
While both spellings of her name should absolutely be mentioned, this should go in the Bio field in order to make me memorial searchable on the site to allow other family members to find the memorial and prevent others from creating a duplicate memorial.

Hello, I think we share ggggg grandparents in John and Catharine Cushwa. My twin sister and I have DNA tests and are on both 23andme and ancestry.com if you ever wanted to link your paper genealogy with cousin-DNA.
Best wishes, and it's nice to meet a cousin!
Catharine Elizabeth Cushwa is my fifth great grandmother.

|Paul Hays||Joanne B. Brown, Arlington|
At this moment, no other memorial for Joanne B. Brown is listed at Arlington. If there is another one, it's either in the wrong cemetery or listed as "Burial Unknown." In either case, the first in the correct cemetery takes precedence, so you should request the other manager to delete the other memorial.

Thanks so much for the transfer. I really appreciate it.
Have a good day!

Thank you for taking pictures while on Wolfe Mountain. They look great with the fallen leaves in the background.
