I am a son of an ex-POW. My brother and I are both Vietnam era veterans. I enjoy genealogy which is what led me to this site. I think this is a great place to share information of loved ones and to honor them. I will continue to add my relatives information and to visit strangers along the way. Please consider leaving a note and flower for my parents, J. D. and Dorothy Osborne, my wife's parents Howard and Gladys Brewer as well as our son, Sean Matthew Osborne.|
"Walking, I am listening to a deeper way. Suddenly, all my ancestors are behind me.
Be still, they say. Watch and listen. You are the result of the love of thousands".
...by Linda Hogan, Native American Writer
"...all these ancestors in your tree, generation upon generation, have come down to this moment in time--to give birth to you...You carry the hopes and dreams of all those who have gone before. Hopes and dreams for a better world" ~Lawrence Overmire~
The Story Tellers.....
We are the chosen. My feelings are in each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called as it were by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story. So, we do. In finding them, we somehow find ourselves. How many graves have I stood before now and cried? I have lost count. How many times have I told the ancestors you have a wonderful family you would be proud of us? How many times have I walked up to a grave and felt somehow there was love there for me? I cannot say. It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who am I and why do I do the things I do? It goes to seeing a cemetery about to be lost forever to weeds and indifference and saying I can't let this happen. The bones here are bones of my bone and flesh of my flesh. It goes to doing something about it. It goes to pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish. How they contributed to what we are today. It goes to respecting their hardships and losses, their never giving in or giving up, their resoluteness to go on and build a life for their family. It goes to deep pride that they fought to make and keep us a Nation. It goes to a deep and immense understanding that they were doing it for us. That we might be born who we are. That we might remember them. So we do. With love and caring and scribing each fact of their existence, because we are them and they are us. So, as a scribe called, I tell the story of my family. It is up to that one called in the next generation to answer the call and take their place in the long line of family storytellers. That, is why I do my family genealogy, and that is what calls those young and old to step up and put flesh on the bones.

Please do tell Nancy that I am sorry she has been injured. One of my husband's dogs hit me from behind doing about 90,(him...not me) a few years ago and gave me whip-lash. I know her injury is much worse, but I do sympathize with her and wish you both the best!
Keep smilin' (try, that is), Marie
|God Bless & R.I.P. ~ Daughter Of An Angel ~||Hi Wayne & Nancy|
Sorry to hear of your accident. You're in my prayers for a speedy recovery. We had a dod that was big & strong too. I couldn't walk him & he was to strong for me. Take care.
|Algernon and Conan Together on the Rainbow Bridge||Hello Nancy & Wayne..|
What a holiday weekend this has been that you will never forget. Thank you for keeping Tucker alive through this unfortunate incident. Like you mentioned, he is just a big lovable dog that didn't realize his own strength and certainly meant no bodily harm. Good to read that you are mending a bit to be able to use your hands. I pray that you have a complete healing real soon.

|Mary Wiese||Oh my!!|
I had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I read what happened to your wife. I hope she mends well and very quickly. Best to both of you!!
|rosie mcnaughton||Hi Wayne,|
So very sorry to hear about your wife's accident! My goodness. I truly hope she will heal quickly, although as we get older and our bones get more brittle, we have to be careful. Will keep her in my prayers. I've never heard of anyone breaking even one arm in that manner, let alone 2! Take care of yourselves. Keep us posted.
I am thinking of you Nancy. I fell and broke my right arm a few years ago. I was caring for my Mama at the time . My arm and most of my hand was in a cast so I could do nothing. Lots of pain. I could not button my clothes or open a jar or can. What a time I had. So I very well know what you are going through now. I know you have Wayne(what a blessing) and your son. They will treat you like a princess. You will be well in no time. Anything we can do to help you just speak up. Love and Gentle hugs , try to enjoy the day, July 4th. God Bless You!!!!
