Bio Photo Geneology and my love of photography are joined together in documenting and connecting families here and past. My brother helps clean up old and unvisited cemeteries in Montague county where I was born. My sister and I are continuing the geneology started by our mother tracing the family of: ALIG, BASS, BAYER, BEHL, BEST, BEYER, CLER, EISENMENGER, FETSCH, FLUSCHE, GILLES, KLEISS, HOENIG, HARTMAN, HAUSMANN, HETTINGER, KAPPES, KOELZER, KOBLITZ, NEU, NEWMAN, OTTO, ROEDER, RUND, SCHAFER, SCHWEIGHART, SOMMERS, VOGEL, WALTERSCHEID, and their descendents.

Thank you for posting the obit to this memorial. I see someone else has posted a "photo" of the obit, which is against Find A Grave rules. It is hard work transcribing them, but I do it and I do appreciate when someone adds it to their memorial. Thanks again.

RE: Sandmann Family
Oh my goodness!! No, I have never seen it!! This is my husband's side of the family and I feel like I have been at a standstill on the Sandmann and Kenter lines. I stumbled across the Sandmann family in Kansas and actually found a family photos from their time in Kansas. I have been to the St. Peter's Cemetery and felt like surely someone had family info. Is the book still available or for sale?

We have done lots of research with the help of our German cousin on the Luttmer family and actullay visited Rieste, Germany where the Luttmer family is from. I feel like Dinklage (where I heard the Sandmann family is from) is near Rieste because I believe the train passed through that town.

I was actually in Lindsay last Sunday! We live in Norman, OK but have a farm between Gainesville and Era.

I would love any info!!!! I sooo appreciate you answering and offering info. Just let me know what I need to do!! Lesa

Sandmann Family
Hello! I was wondering if you work on the Sandmann Family? Our line is from Mathilda "Millie" Sandmann (b. 1877) that married a Luttmer. Her parents were Bernard Heinrich "Henry" Sandmann and Bernadina Kenter both from Germany. I believe Henry Sandmann was from Dinklage, Oldenburg, Germany. Does anyone know about the family back in Germany or where they came when they came to America. I do see them in Kansas but just wondering if anyone knew anything more about the Sandmann or Kenter families? Thanks Lesa

Hi, and thank you so much for pointing out the duplicate memorials for her. I have contacted the other memorial creator to see what we can figure out. Do you know if there is an easy way to merge 2 memorials???

Thank you! Doy

You responded to my inquiry about Sarah Jane Rogers Bennett. Unfortunately, I had a severe heart attack the next day and did not read your reply until today. Thank you for your kind offer to let me add information. I will work on this in the next few weeks. PS--took a while but made a full recovery.

Candy Wood
John William Wood
I spoke too soon. I already had all the information on John William Wood, and he is identical to your memorial. The first wife was Mariah, and she is the mother of Lydia A, Mary E, Marquis L (probably died between the 1860 & 1870 censuses), John W, Lewis, Etta & Netta and Francis. Mariah died in 1879, and John remarried pretty quickly. Although Isabel is listed later as the mother of John's older children, they are listed with Mariah as the mother in the 1860 & 1870 censuses, before John married Isabel. In the 1880 census, Isabel also has an 11 year old son, William, listed as his stepson. (the same age as John's twins). The 1900 census Has John & Isabelle at the right ages, with a 19 year old daughter, Bertha, born the year after the 1880 census.

John Wood
Is this John Wood the father of Francis Wood, and related to most of the Woods in Wonder Cemetery, who are buried by each other? His death certificate says his parents were Hesikiah (probably Zedekiah) Wood & Lidia (Lydia) Smith. His first wife, Maria, was the mother of Francis. Francis' parents were John and Maria, close to your "Maniah" The death certificate matches the cemetery and info you posted. It sure looks like he is the John Wood who is Zedekiah & Lydia's son, and brother of several Wood siblings in this plot. Is he buried by them?
