Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a high school math teacher and have been doing geneaology for over 25 years with extensive research on my extended family. I have traced some lines back to the early 1600's with almost all lines into the 1700's. My family is all from either the Pfalz in Germany or from the counties of Carmarthenshire, Glamorganshire, Breconshire and Monmouthshire in Wales. All of my lines settled in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The vast majority of my family is buried in Pittston Avenue Cemetery, Abington Hills Cemetery and Washburn Street Cemetery. Although many of my submissions are those of family members and family friends, many more are cemeteries that I have walked and recorded or graves near those which were photo requests. Sometimes I just walk cemeteries to record what is there. Even the best kept cemeteries have stones that are eroding and decaying. If we don't record this information that is there, it may disappear forever, as so many stones have.

I am not territorial. I post photos and information for everyone to share. I don't understand those who feel that they "own" information in a cemetery that is clearly there for to see. We all live in different places. How great it is to be able to share what is close to our homes with people from all over who can never visit a cemetery in person. Feel free to use any family photos for your personal use. It is not necessary to give me the credit. Just don't use them for profit. I abhor people who profit from the stolen work of others.

Although I welcome any corrections that you may find on my submissions and look forward to hearing from any family members or anyone else who is just plain interested, please do not contact me if you are not willing to leave your name. I don't deal with anonymous. I will happily transfer ownership of any page to any family members who politely ask, but please do not involve me in any family squabbles. I do this to help others and for fun. Let's keep it fun. If you send me obituaries, please include the newspaper name, date, and page number. Withough that information, I will not add the obituary.

Lucy A. Bedient Memorial# 15712143
Just a couple of corrections for you. Lucy was the third and final wife of Zalmon Bedient. She died 23 Dec. 1864. You have her death year as 1844 in error. That's easy enough to do since her death date by looking at the picture on the site is almost gone. Lucy's maiden name was Baldwin and she married ____ Briggs who died before 1850.

From a fellow volunteer.

Keiper family
Hi, I had contacted Find A Grave about some memorials some one had added into Greenwood cemetery that were already added into Oak Ridge. I asked them not to merge them with the ones added in Oak ridge, but it looks like they merged them anyway. Very sorry about that. It was Elizabeth Keiper and husband Frederick Keiper. It looks like that other memorial merger changed his middle name. I don't know why Find A Grave always has to merge things! That messes up the information like names and dates. I just wanted to let you know because it also looks like they gave management of those 2 memorials to that other person.

Ann Morgan Samuels - Forest Home Cemetery, Taylor, PA
Where did you get this information on Ann Morgan Samuels? Her husband is not Aaron Samuels, as you suggest, but Benjamin Samuel, who died over in Wales, before Ann came over to America with her daughter, Emily and son-in-law, Henry H Harris. I know this because I am her great great granddaughter and I have been trying to find this family in Forest Home Cemetery for YEARS now. My two sisters just walked this cemetery only five days ago and could NOT find her gravestone. Do you know where her gravestone is located? If so, Emily, Henry, and two other people are also buried there with her. I am wondering if you did not see her gravestone, where did you get all her info - birth, death, etc? I have a copy of her death certificate that I am looking at right now and the information is given by her son-in-law, Henry H. Harris. It does not list her husband, but does give her parents' names which you have correct. I am extremely EXCITED about this as our whole family would love to know exactly where the Harris family gravestone is (Ann Samuel being Emily Harris's mother). Hopefully you saw it, if not, do you know what lot or section she is buried in? Thanks again.

Bonnie Brown Arnold
Hello again :)
I need to stop using my iPhone for genealogy! I meant to say, ...loved ones that HAVE "gone before".

Please excuse spellchecker-induced creative spelling or typo-created apparent lack of grammar knowledge!

Great Grand fathers grave
Hi Tom,

After many years of searching I have finely found out that my Grandfather Bernard Malloy is buried in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, he died in 1938, I don't think he would have a gravestone, how would I go about finding the plot he is buried in as I intend visiting Scranton in October.

Thanks Jane from Bonny Scotland
