Bio and Links
Bio Photo As a teenager, I would sit with my grandmother as she helped me diagram the "Who's Who" of our regular but convoluted family reunions. As we worked, she would tell me stories of her parents and grandparents. Since then, I've been hooked! I'm a typical product of that melting pot known as Boston, MA; with Irish, Italian, Scots, French and German ancestry. When I get stuck on my own ancestry, I work on my husband's or anyone else I can help. I served for six years at our local LDS Family History Center as a worker, and as its director for another five. These days my great obsession is documenting all of our family members who have served in the military, and the list is up to 106, including 3 women, 5 nations and all branches of service. It's a heritage I want to pass on to my active-duty Air Force and Navy sons. Oh, and ask them how many of their childhood family vacations were spent traipsing through cemeteries! ;-)
**PLEASE NOTE** I'm happy to make edits and/or transfers, please use the edit button on the memorial, and if you would like a memorial transferred, please remember to include your findagrave number so I don't have to look it up. Thanks!

RE: Fulcher-O'Neal cemetery, Ocracoke, NC
I can understand how difficult it might be to do memorials long distance from photographs. My poor memory would not allow me to do that without the assistance of other sources.
"In Memory Of..." has not been digitized. That is why I purchased it. The length of the book (almost 400 pages) would not permit me to scan it and send it to you and neither am I sure how the copyright laws would come into play.

Fulcher-O'Neal cemetery, Ocracoke, NC
You have, among others, the following graves in the Fulcher-O'Neal Cemetery:
Elizabeth Jones Williams

Isabella Williams

Tilmon L. Williams

According to the source "In Memory Of...An Index to Hyde County Cemeteries" by Swindell and Spencer, p. 302, these should be in the "Tilmon L. Williams Cemetery." on Trent Road, also on p. 302. The Fulcher-O'Neal Cemetery in this source shows 16 burials. The Find A Grace cemetery shows 66. if you will look at the cemetery pictures that were posted for the Fulcher-O'Neal Cemetery you will see it is enclosed by a white picket fence. There is no possible way there can be 66 burials within that enclosure!
It would appear that there are approximately 50 burials that are incorrectly placed in the Fulcher-O'Neal Cemetery. A good number, if not all of these, are yours.
If the right thing is done, those that don't belong in the Fulcher-O'Neal Cemetery should be placed in the cemeteries to which they belong. Otherwise how will anyone ever know what the correct cemetery is?
Here's hoping you will do the right thing,
