Retired from IBM in 1991 after 32 years as a Service Technician and Instructor. Retired from NJ Army National Guard in 1997 after 43 years as a traditional Guardsman (M-Day). I still serve with the NG Military Museum of NJ, Sea Girt, NJ, and the Military Funeral Honor Guard programs in NJ and PA. Interested in taking better care of our Veteran Gravesites - everywhere. Let's work toward getting all our veterans located and documented on line. (Check out the FindAGrave site of Preston Wallace, Beverly National Cemetery, NJ) - County Keeper for Bucks County, PA. | RE: African American Cemetery Good evening Ray,
My husband and I were searching for the burial site of his seventh great grandparents, Garret Roelofse Schenck and Neeltje Koerten Van Voorhees. We finally found the well maintained Schenck & Couwenhoven Cemetery, also known as Pleasant Valley Cemetery, after spending about forty minutes lost in the nearby overgrowth.
There are three burial areas on the end of Canyon Wood Court.
The first headstone that you see when you walk down the tree lined path that leads to the cemetery is for Ann Long, wife of Henry Farren. If you go right into the woods at that point and then get lost, you may come across the "African American Cemetery," also referred to as the "Colored Peoples Burying Ground." If you are lucky and can survive the brambles, you will also find the "Old Roman Catholic Burying Ground."
We took and posted photos of every headstone that we found. I am sure there were some hidden ones that we missed. If you have photos of anything that we missed, I would love to see them. Also, if you would like to make any corrections to what I posted. Just let me know.
Happy ancestory hunting.

 | Rocks Church in Hunterdon Hello Ray, I see you took a photo for that church page and wondered if you know anything about a possible list of burials there perhaps? There is a John S. Nevius buried there according to his obit and I'm seeking his wife Mary Ann Nevius who died in 1935. If there is anyone you can refer me to who might have more information would be greatly appreciated. thank you! | | | Kerry J.
 | Louis J Wieland Moffa Hello, I am the granddaughter of one of your listings ("Louis J Wieland Moffa"). I just wanted to give you some additional information and a correction to that listing. His birthdate was March 19, 1919. Although he was married to Madelyn Wieland (2nd marriage), he is buried with my grandmother and first wife, Lillian Moffa, born March 31, 1911, died August 1990. All other information is correct. If you could make the addition/correction, it would be most appreciated.

 | Ray - museums My Bro Mack Thomas Thornton was in Vietnam and Korea (20 year man). He is coming to Pensacola to visit me in Jan 2012 to bring two big plaques to the Naval Musuem on NAS Pensacola. The plaques are about MAC Companies in the Marines but affiliated with the Navy in some way, I think he said. They have the names of all his pals on them and most are deceased now, so it is importnat for him to do this. I look forward to going with him to NAS to the Naval Musuem at that time.
