<------ Meeka (a rescue that has changed my life)|
Born in Trenton, Nova Scotia, Canada, raised in Los Angeles since age 5. I concentrate my efforts at Westwood Memorial Park, Forest Lawn Glendale, Hollywood Forever & Los Angeles National.
I produce a high volume of memorials and photos with a good chance I have made some errors along the way. I ALWAYS welcome corrections!
***When I take a photo for a request, I take the time to trim and clean the headstone. I average 700 random photos each time I go and do my best to make sure the headstone is readable. I do not clean and trim each one. I personally like the natural (as it stands) look rather than doing what should be done by the cemetery.
If anyone wants to manage a memorial I created that is not a family member or friend of mine, just ask. I donít understand those who feel the need to hoard and control every memorial.
If anyone wants to use ANY photo I have posted to their family tree can do so without further permission. Anyone who feels the need to charge for photos that offer a family a small piece of their (key word their) family history needs to rethink their values. No disrespect meant. I offer my photos to anyone else for publication for free with proper photo credit.
James R. Mason

Yes, I really like him. He told me that he is retiring and moving away but plans to keep in touch. I am happy for him and sad for me at the same time. I always thought I'd like to meet him but never had the chance.
If I wasn't so committed to Woodlawn, I would say that we should meet up and start a photography project. But I really want to plug away at Woodlawn until we get it finished. I'm going on either the 20th or the 27th, with only one other graver showing up. Besides photography, I am also going to help with some maintenance.
Let's talk more. I'll send you an email.

Haha! I had a slightly different problem. He/she really took the wind out of my sails at one of my local cemeteries. Acts like it is a race to see who can get the new burials in first. When that person figured out where I was getting my info, all of a sudden the burials were being added before I could get to them. And another contributor, who was new a couple of years ago, must have a phone app that alerts him to photo requests. So I can only claim them at that cemetery when he has maxed out. See how new people can take the fun out of this site? I don't think they do it intentionally, but I guess that will happen more and more as the popularity of this site grows.
I work full time and I'm not on Find A Grave 24/7. So I take 'em when I can get them.
IPC is still my favorite. My mom's ashes are in the old Mausoleum. And I have my pre-need crypt in the Sunset Mission.

There seems to be an error with the name of Alexander Caskey's spouse. Thank you in advance for correcting this mistake. LC Curtis
Hi James. I am not going to remove the duplicate because that person obviously had the original listed as a burial unknown, or it was in the wrong cemetery. All three of those memorials with the same surname were together in the same plot and I did a check for that surname in Inglewood, and there were none at that time. Also, as you can see from the photos, someone "lifted" my photo and placed it on the original, and she has done that to me before. I have reported her in the past. She is probably the one who told the manager of the first one, that she had it placed incorrectly or whatever. I've had to delete "duplicates" because of other people's laziness on more than one occasion. I'm not going to do it anymore. I've been reporting these to the admins and let them decide.
Regarding mother's maiden names. I don't go out of my way to add that kind of information because I don't think it is necessary. I know that many people use this site for genealogy, but my only interest in the genealogy side of this is to make the direct links. I've also found so many mistakes in the CADI that I don't rely on it anymore.
Bottom line: If someone is giving me Edits on their own family members and they want me to put that info in the bio I will do it. But once there was a girl who sent me Edits constantly, and it appeared that she was going through the alphabet in that cemetery, looking up the person on the CADI, and sending me Edits. Dozens of them. I finally told her to hold off unless it was her family. It seemed that she had nothing better to do. I know she was trying to be helpful, but it did create a lot of unnecessary work.

I want to thank you for this photo. I never knew that there was a child of this marriage, of my grandfather and Rosalie. She died less than 2 years after they were married. Again, THANKS, Larry J. McNair

Awesome. If you intend to pick a random section to photograph, I will tell you in advance which parts I have done: All of Hildale Plot, all of Oleander, most of the old Inglewood Mausoleum, and all of the Sanctuary of Fidelity in the Maus. of the Golden West. I also did about half of the Library of Living Memories. There is so much of IPC that needs to be done. I've been told there are nearly 400,000 people buried there and as you can see, only 80,000+ are on Find a Grave. There are other sections that have been done by other volunteers, particularly the older sections such as La Ramada, Del Ivy, and Sequoia, but not the entire sections, just parts of them.
If you are ever interested in helping out our Woodlawn Compton project, just me know. A small group of us have been working on photographing it for quite some time now. We keep having people join us and then leave us, so most of the time it is just two or three of us working. We try to meet one Saturday per month.

Sure, you can use the "suggestion" format or e-mail it directly. Either way works, so long as I can cut & paste.
Happy to help out.
