|Bio and Links|
I've been into genealogy for some 50 years and have never lost interest in helping myself and others find their roots. I find it a huge mystery game with many surprising discoveries.|
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE... WHEN SENDING ME A MESSAGE ABOUT A SPECIFIC INDIVIDUAL, KINDLY INCLUDE THE MEMORIAL NUMBER. I OVERSEE TOO MANY MEMORIALS FOR THIS OLD MIND TO REMEMBER. THANKS.
TRANSFER REQUESTS: Please request if you are really a relative and will do something constructive with the memorial. If you are just a close friend, etc., the same goes for you. I will never refuse a request for valid reasons.
CORRECTIONS: additions, & family links when asked but no promises if you just send me an email instead of using the edit link. Use the Edit tab at the top right of memorial, then the Suggest A Correction option. Now we have the auto edit request and permission ability so that makes it easier. You can upload your pictures directly to the memorials, but PLEASE take pride on what you enter. Photos should be carefully composed and submitted with the highest resolution that FAG will accept.
I believe everyone prefers a typed Bio to be entered through the Bio button on the memorial page. If at all possible please transcribe the newspaper Bio and send it through the Edit button rather than attaching a photo of said Bio. I will gladly enter it in the proper location on the memorial.

I have searched the Mount Vernon cemetery for a headstone for Malvina, and there isn't one. I did, however, find another listing for Melvina Q. Fell, buried in Grand View cemetery in Anacortes, Wa. While there isn't a photo of her headstone on that memorial either, I do believe Grand View is the correct cemetery, as they have a plot listed for her as well. The memorial for Grand View cemetery is # 154410808.

Thank you for the Comer Emerson birth date edit. It was a simple typo error that I failed to notice. Again, thanks for spotting it and letting me know.

I recently posted a photo of the plot at Salem Pioneer Cemetery
|Patricia Max||RE: Jesse Rubottom|
The last I found on Jesse was that he enlisted Sep 5, 1861 Company B, Iowa 11th Infantry Regiment and mustered out on 30 Jul 1863. Their daughter Lillian was born in 1861. Emma's first child by Samuel Woodward was born in 1867 so I believe she and Samuel were married by 1866 at the latest. I'm going to continue searching the Quaker files to see if I can find any information about him. All but one of the Rubottom burials that I've found in Iowa were in either Hardin or Warren County. He might have been injured, mustered out, and died. If so he could have been disowned.

We currently live in Tennessee. We are natives of California. My husband Merv was born in Colusa. We lived in the Sacramento area for 8 years, so I did a lot of research in the Colusa library and courthouse. I also spent lots of time at the cemeteries. The California State Library was a wealth of information too. I was able to comb through all of the old newspapers.

Hello, you asked me to add death index information for Emma, I did add it but then realized that you may want me to transfer her memorial to your care, I would be glad to transfer her if you would like. Please let me know.
